Adventist teaching: An angel
The Bible: The LORD God (Genesis 4:6-7)
Ellen G. White contradicts the scriptures in her book Patriarchs and Prophets by asserting to be shown in vision that Cain talked with an angel messenger that gave a divine warning from God. But Genesis 4:6-7 documents down Cain’s interaction and it’s with God himself. There is no mention of an angel messenger conversing with Cain in scripture, giving him a divine warning.
Adventist apologists often try to reconciling this contradiction by saying that the LORD spoke to Cain through a messenger angel. But that isn’t what the text says. It states that God himself (Yahweh) was speaking.
