Ellen G. White, the Seventh-Day Adventist prophetess, claimed that it is a sin to be sick and all sickness is a result of transgression. This contradicts scripture.
One example is when Job was afflicted with sores, God’s Word tells us that Satan brought his illness upon him and it wasn’t due to any sin in Job (Job 2:7-10).
Another is in John 9 when Jesus’s disciples ask Him what sin the blind man committed to be born blind. Jesus said it was neither him or his parents sin that resulted in his ailment but that the works of God might be manifest (John 9:2-3).
Ellen White had many health complications over the course of her life, which means she must have been quite the sinner. She also claimed that “whatever contradicts God’s Word, we can be sure proceeds from Satan.” We’ll let you connect the dots.
