Did the High Priest carry the blood of sacrificed animals into the Holy Place each day?

One of the core teachings of the Adventist Sanctuary doctrine is their theory of sin transference. They claim to model this after the Old Testament sanctuary service conducted by the priests. This understanding is—ultimately—coming from Ellen G. White.

In Patriarchs and Prophets (as well as elsewhere) she falsely asserted that—during the daily ministration of the priests in the Holy Place (outer apartment)—the blood of the sacrificed animals was carried by the priest into the holy place and sprinkled before the veil and that by this ceremony the sin was—through the blood—transferred in figure to the sanctuary.

This contradicts the Bible where we are told that—apart from the once-a-year Day of Atonement service—the priest only sprinkled blood “before the veil” in the Holy Place on two occasions:

1. When a priest sinned (Leviticus 4:3-12) and;
2. When the entire Israelite community sinned unintentionally (Leviticus 4:13-21)

Blood was never taken into the Holy Place on a daily basis when one of the individual leaders sinned (Leviticus 4:22-26), nor when an individual, penitent Israelite sinned (Leviticus 4:27-35).

Ellen White contradicted the Bible by saying the sins of the individual were transferred on a daily basis—in figure—to the sanctuary through the blood sacrificed. She is on record, in the same book, claiming that “whatever contradicts God’s Word, we can be sure proceeds from Satan”, but also that the words in Patriarchs and Prophets are “barricaded by a thus saith the Lord.” We’ll let you connect the dots.
