In 1905, Ellen White claimed that the Adventist message of health reform should be progressive—meaning things should slowly be weeded out of the diet along the way. Speaking on dairy products in particular, she said that disease in animals will increase so the use of milk and eggs will become more and more unsafe.
However, it wasn’t too long after this that Mrs. White died (a decade later) and the process of pasteurization started to develop leading to the opposite of what she claimed. According to the American Dairy Association, pasteurization allows for a safer product and extends milk’s shelf life by eradicating spoilage-causing bacteria through the application of heat.
Because Mrs. White made blanket statements about her writings regarding all of it being from God, this creates quite the issue for her prophetic credibility and can be added to the pile.
