In 1873, Ellen G. White falsely claimed that God sent an angel from Heaven to provide food morning and evening for Elijah. Three years later, in 1876, she claimed God used a raven.
The Bible plainly says God used a raven (1 Kings 17:4-6).
The Ellen White Estate, aware of this contradiction and flip-flopping of Ellen White, tried covering up the error by changing the wording in the popular Prophets and Kings—one year after her death—to say Elijah was “miraculously provided with food”. The other citations remain unaltered.
This is insight into how the SDA Church views Ellen White’s writings. They are the “lesser light” that sheds extra details onto the “greater Light” (ie: the Bible) that aren’t actually found in the Bible.
This is not only a contradiction, but what we call an “Advent-ism.”
