In a talk that he gave regarding obedience, SDA evangelist Randy Skeete made one of the most blasphemous and heretical statements we have ever heard an Adventist make. We look at the law gospel distinction, what it is, if the SDA Church understands it, followed by looking at how Randy Skeete’s misapplication of 1 Samuel 15:22 evidences that he is a dangerous false teacher that—per Romans 16 and 1 Timothy 6—needs to be marked and avoided.

All right. What’s up, y’all? Hey there, wherever and whenever you might be watching. My name is Miles. Welcome to Answering Adventism, the weekly live show. Uh, an especially warm welcome if this is your first time here, Adventist or otherwise. Now, I’m going to be honest. Well, first actually, I should say I’m battling uh somewhat of a head cold, maybe something to that effect. Uh life with toddlers. So, bear with me. I’m going to try not to have to clear my throat and cough a lot and make the listening experience as pleasurable as I can. Uh Sans’s all of that extra noise.
But I’ll be honest, when I first heard what we are going to examine and listen to this evening, I almost yes, couldn’t even believe it. Now, there’s a lot of things I’ve heard from SDAs. There’s a lot of things I’ve heard SDA leadership say, but this might be one of the most blasphemous statements I’ve ever heard. Period. This time from SDA evangelist Randy SK. So, it got moved up the docket and prioritized because again, when I heard this, I said, I have to go find this whole thing to figure out surely that this man is is uh mistaken here. No,
Folks, I am not sensationalizing. We will get to that. For those that do not know, Randy Ske is uh one of these celebrity type SDAs that travels around. He’s brought in to speak at SDA churches and summer camps and all that sort of stuff all over the world. But first, before we get into that, we are going to start by doing an overview of the topic which is going to be the law gospel distinction. What is it? Why is understanding it so important? That sort of thing. Once we do that, we will look at whether or not the SDA church upholds this foundational concept. With that
Stuff then established, we will begin to listen to Mr. SK’s sales pitch because that’s what it is, as will be seen from the very beginning. However, it is a sales pitch for customers that are already buyers, subscribers, not new ones. One has to realize, folks, the SDA church is in crisis. The movement is hemorrhaging based on their own statistical data. So they have to do everything they can to keep people, which oftentimes, sadly, results in planting seeds of fear and doubt regarding leaving Adventism. So, all that and more coming up, but before we get started,
Want to remind you that if you are on a desktop computer, down below the video, there is a little join button right next to uh our icon and the subscribe button. If you like what we’re doing here, consider becoming a member. It only costs about a cup of coffee a month. You will get access to our membersonly content, including membersonly live streams. The first of which will take place this Monday at 700 p.m. Central Standard Time, where we are going to hang out, engage, enjoy some comedic relief, from Little Light Studios, who put out this whopper of a video a couple
Weeks ago regarding Project 2025 and the coming Sunday law, etc. The membersonly stream will be a lot less formal than this one is. It’s very hard to engage with the audience on Thursday nights because I operate as a oneman show and I already have a hard enough time staying focused as it is. So, I can’t have any more distractions than uh are already on the table. So, these streams will be significantly different than the Thursday night stream. You will actually be able to join yourself, contribute to the conversation that way if you would like. We will also play some Adventist
Bingo some weeks and a bunch of other stuff. So again, if you want to join, click that little join button down below the video, or use the link in the description box down below, which will take you to the members tab of the channel. This can be done on mobile. Uh they just make it a little bit more difficult, interestingly enough, but you can go to the channel page on the mobile app, our channel page, and select the memberships tab from the slider, and you should see the join button from there. All right. So the law gospel distinction I’ve talked about this quite a bit as it
Is foundational in highlighting the errors of Adventism and lots of groups actually for that matter as it pertains to the proper function and use of the law as well as what the gospel actually is. It is also the evidence that the SDA church is not Protestant. I’m going to keep saying that for years to come. They are not Protestant. So, Catholics, Orthodox, do not saddle Protestants with the mess of Adventism. I almost feel like Luther at at Muner taking the attacks from both Rome and the Anabaptists where the same thing happened. Rome saddled the German
Reformers with the radical Anabaptists. But no, this movement is not Protestant in any true sense of the title. And this is one of the key reasons why. Now it is going to be a bit of a foundation laying here before we listen to Randy Ski. So bear with me, but it is necessary. Now usually on this topic I like to cite Lewis Burkoff. I have cited him I don’t know how many times. His systematic theology is right there. But let’s look at some uh new faces as there are plenty. So, first notice what Edward Fischer in his book, The Marorrow of Modern Divinity says.
It says, quote, “Now the law is a doctrine partly known by nature, teaching us that there is a God and what God is and what he requires us to do, binding all reasonable creatures to perfect obedience, both internal and external, promising the favor of God and everlasting life to all those who yield perfect obedience there unto, and denouncing the curse of God and everlasting damnation to all those who are not perfectly correspondent there unto. But the gospel is a doctrine revealed from heaven by the Son of God, presently after the fall of mankind into sin and
Death, and afterwards manifested more clearly and fully to the patriarchs and prophets, to the evangelists and apostles, and by them spread abroad to others, wherein freedom from sin, from the curse of the law, the wrath of God, death, and hell is freely promised for Christ’s sake unto all who truly believe on his name. Close quote. Now, Fischer here was speaking about the Marorrow controversy. If you do not know what that was, look into it. It is a fascinating aspect of 17th century church history. But, ironically enough, it was dealing with the fine line
Between antonyomianism and neonianism, aka legalism. Two ditches. No law for me at all. I’m just a untethered free. I can do whatever I want. Anarchist Antonyomians versus Neonians. Oh, no. You’re under law. The law covenantally. Two ditches. The Marorrow brethren which included Edward Fischer, Thomas Boston and others put a heavy emphasis on the law gospel distinction in the Marorrow controversy showing that we have to be careful to not fall into either ditch and must be balanced which had happened numerous times in the church’s past. Both antonyomianism and neonianism are
False. So the law gospel distinction is not simply in reference to the ten commandments but rather all of scripture. So the word law in the phrase is not just referring to Moses. It is not just referring to the ten commandments but rather all of scripture in both the old and new testaments. There is law and there’s gospel. And this is fundamentally downstream from the broader theological topic of covenant theology. So statements of law have a function and use and statements of gospel have another both being necessary because all of scripture is profitable for doctrine,
Correction, reproof, etc. So the SDA church for those that do not know is not dispensational. I often hear people that think they are based on some of their esqueological claims, but nope. They hold to a form of covenant theology. And I say the word form that way to highlight that that’s what it is. It is not classical covenant theology but an adaptation of that that they then took and like everything else funneled it through the great controversy worldview which we will look at more closely in a bit. But the law in the context of the law gospel
Distinction is referring to everything in scripture which is a revelation of God’s will in the form of command or prohibition oftent time attached with do this and you’ll live do that and you’ll die. The gospel on the other hand embraces everything in both old and new testaments that pertains to the work of reconciliation, forgiveness, grace, mercy, love, etc. It is the gospel that brings about salvation, not the law. The covenant of grace, not the covenant of works. But I don’t want to get ahead of myself. Next, notice Hidleberg Catechism. Zacharias Ursinus.
He was a German reformer. Question 36 from the H Highleberg Catechism. What distinguishes law and gospel? Answer. The law contains a covenant of nature begun by God with men in creation. That is, it is a natural sign to man, and it requires of us perfect obedience toward God. It promises eternal life to those keeping it and threatens eternal punishment for those not keeping it. In fact, the gospel contains a covenant of grace. That is, one known not at all under nature. This covenant declares to us fulfillment of its righteousness in Christ, which
The law requires, and our restoration through Christ’s spirit. To those who believe in him, it freely promises eternal life for Christ’s sake. Close quote. So, the question is speaking on Romans 1 regarding the law of nature being revealed to all peoples. It is a general revelation that reveals the creator’s existence. And with the natural law comes violations of breaking it. Something that Paul goes on to explain by saying it’s written upon a person’s conscience. It’s not just externally in the physical created matter. People have a conscience.
And when they violate that conscience, it convicts them. It is a law unto that person. And when they violate that conscience, God holds that person accountable. Even if they don’t have special revelation, i.e. the the gospel. Now, we’re not going to get into tonight another interesting topic. Actually, a lot of Adventists think that, well, as long as somebody obeys the light that’s given to them, they can still be saved as long as they do their best ability to know. But it’s general revelation that reveals the creator’s existence. And with that natural law comes
Violations for breaking it. Something else, like I said, Paul goes on to explain saying that it’s written upon the conscience. It’s not just external. So God covenanted with Adam in the beginning. And people may say, well, the word covenant’s not there. Sure. The point being is that this covenant of works demanded perfect obedience, which Adam failed to uphold. He disobeyed God. And the threatening for such was damnation because God is just. Argo. He must punish sin. But that was a covenant of works. Do this and you’ll live. Do that and you’ll die. That was an administration of the
Covenant of works. It is law. The gospel on the other hand is not something seen from nature. It requires a special revelation from God himself to the creation which God revealed through the prophets, the apostles with the ultimate revelation being Jesus Christ, God himself. And with this comes the covenant of grace, the gospel, which is the good news to the bad news. Because while all have broken God’s law and stand condemned, Jesus Christ fulfilled the righteous requirements of the covenant of works as the second Adam doing what the first Adam failed to do.
And then to those that believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the promise of the covenant of grace is that you can freely have eternal life on the basis of Jesus Christ’s perfect person and work and be seen as righteous in him such that it is as if you fulfilled what Adam failed to do. And it is all on account of Christ’s sake. Two distinct covenants as well as two distinct categories, law and gospel. And that distinction is even seen clearly here in covenants. It’s seen in the dichotomy between the first Adam and the second Adam. It’s seen all throughout scripture. Which is
Why when we use the term or I’m using the term tonight and you’ll hear classical Protestant the theologians talking about the law gospel distinction. Lutheran are obviously really big on the law gospel distinction. What we are referring to is an interpretation principle that spans all of scripture. Now notice another German reformer, good old Caspar Levianis. This is from his comments on Romans. He says, quote, “For this reason, the distinction between law and gospel is retained. The law does not promise freely, but under the condition that you
Keep it completely, and if someone should transgress it once, the law or legal covenant does not have the promise of the remission of sins. On the other hand, the gospel promises freely the remission of sins and life, not if we keep the law, but for the sake of the son of God through faith. close quote. So, the reason that this is so fundamental is because one will make mincemeat out of the Bible if not understood. The fruit of every group that’s out there that does not recognize this ends up misapplying scripture and preaching a false gospel. Every time they end up
Mixing law and mixing gospel, which results in no gospel at all. So, a perfect example of this with SDAs is when they will cite Matthew 5:48 where Jesus says, “Be ye perfect as your father in heaven is perfect.” But what they unspokenly are assuming is that Jesus is saying, “If you want to be saved, you have to be sinlessly perfect.” That’s not what he’s that’s not what’s being said at all. And as you read through Christ’s sermon on the mount, you will see he himself is employing the law gospel distinction. He begins by expounding upon the law,
But more specifically the spirit of the law, not just the mere letter, saying things like, “You’ve heard it said,”Do not commit adultery, but I tell you, whoever looks at a woman with lust, you’ve already committed adultery.” But when he gets to 548, he’s stating how high the bar is because the law demands perfect obedience, not getting a doover multiple times after you’ve violated it who knows how many, which is what the SDA church is trying to say, which we’ll get into more of that in a moment. But no, it requires that you’ve never broken it a single time. That’s the bar.
Any person that heard Jesus say this would have been internally thinking, who can measure up to this standard? The spirit of the law even speaks to my thoughts and internal motives, not just external behaviors. And that’s the point. It brings a crushing weight, which is why one has to keep reading and look at the whole sermon because Jesus then transitions into the gospel, which is the good news to that crushing weight, bad news. But a misunderstanding of the law gospel distinction is what results in misapplying Matthew 5:48 and causing many SDAs to think that what’s
Being said is something different than what’s actually going on. Which is why this is so vital to grasp, especially if you are a former Adventist. Study this till the wheels fall off because once it clicks, it’s another game over. It’s just like once it clicks, it’s over for SDA theology. Now, I want us to look at another example, particularly because it’s a little bit more uh exacting, if you will, regarding its application and deduction from scripture. It involves the Old Testament and the New Testament and it is from John Chrissum’s homalies on Romans
Where he refers to how Leviticus 18:5 relates to uh well a statement or two that are made in Romans. Now I always say this because we have new SDAs every week. Yes, we love incight the church fathers here. We are not smarter than everyone that came before us especially bright lights that God gifted to the church. No, we don’t think that they are infallible, but it would do us well to learn from them and not assume that they were all clueless stooges, especially considering these men gave their lives to the gospel of Jesus Christ and were used by God in the preservation of the
Biblical text that you love. So, with that said, I want to read the whole thing. It is a little bit long, so please bear with me. This is from his sermon on Romans 10 where he references Leviticus 18:5. But he starts by saying what he means is this. Moses showeth us the righteousness ensuing from the law. What sort of what sort is it of? And whence? What sort is it then of? And what does it consist in? In fulfilling the commandments? Then he cites Leviticus 18:5. He that do doeth these things, he says, shall live by or in them. And there is no other way of becoming
Righteous in the law saved by fulfilling the whole of it. But this has not been possible for anyone. And therefore this righteousness has failed them. But tell us Paul on the other righteousness also or of the other righteousness also that which is of grace. What is that then? And of what does it consist? Here are the words in which he gives a clear sketch of it. For after he had refuted the other, he next goes on to this and says, “So, Chrysum recognized that the law has an impossible requirement for man.” Because while it promises freely righteousness, it only promises it to
Those who have never violated it a single time. It does not have provisions for doovers. You have to never violate it a single time. Period. But then he transitions to the other righteousness that Paul speaks about which is what? Of grace, not law. Contrasting the two. What is this other righteousness that Paul speaks about? Well, now Chrysum is going to go on to speak about this regarding uh Romans 10 6-9. So he cites verses 6-9 up there at the top. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise. Say not in thine heart, who shall ascend into
Heaven, that is to bring Christ down from above? Or who shall descend into the deep? That is to bring Christ again, bring Christ up again from the dead. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that is the word of faith which we preach, that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth that Jesus that uh mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. to prevent the Jews then from saying, “How came they who had not found the lesser righteousness to find the
Greater.” He gives a reason there was no answering that this way was easier than that. For that requires the fulfillment of all things, the law. For when for when thou doest all, then thou shalt live. But the righteousness which is of faith does not say this. But what? If thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Then again, that we may not seem to be making it contemptable by showing it to be easy and cheap, observe how he expands his account of it. For he does not come
Immediately to the words just given. But what does he say? But the righteousness which is of faith saith on this wise, say not in thine heart, who shall go up into heaven, that is to bring Christ down, or who shall descend into the deep, that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead? For as to the virtue manifested in works, there is opposed a listlessness which relaxth our labors, and it requireth a very wakeful soul not to yield to it. Thus, when one is required to believe, there are reasonings which confuse and make havoc of the minds of most men, and it wants uh and it wants a
Soul of some vigor to shake them thoroughly off. So, he recognizes that Paul clarifies that this isn’t a cheap grace. license to sin, etc., which Paul has already laid laid out back in chapter six. But he continues, “And this is just why he brings the same before one. And as he did in Abraham’s case, so he does here also. For having there shown that he was justified by faith, lest he should seem to have gotten so great a crown by a mere chance, as if it were a thing of no account, to extol the nature of faith.” He says, “Who against hope believed in
Hope that he might become the father of many nations? And being not weak in faith, he considered his own body now dead and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. And being fully persuaded that what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” That’s Romans 4:18-21. So he showed that there is a need of vigor and a lofty soul that takes in things beyond expectation and stumbles not at appearances. This then he does here also and shows that it requires a wise mind and a
Spirit heavenly which he says the Greek rendering of that is heavenreaching and great. So again, Chrysum recognized that Paul is not espousing a cheap grace here. A sort of get your ticket punched, you’re going to heaven now and nothing really changes in your life. He recognized that Abraham’s faith did produce action. It was living. It was active. Abraham being the example Paul uses when talking about this covenant of grace or a righteousness apart from the law, a different kind of righteousness that Chrysum is picking up on here. But then he continues,
“And he does not say merely say not, but say not in thine heart.” That is do not so much as think of doubting and saying with thyself and how can this be? You see that this is a chief characteristic of faith to leave all the consequences of this lower world and so to seek for that which is above nature and to cast out the feebleness of calculation and so to accept everything from the power of God. The Jews, however, did not merely assert this, but it was not possible to be justified by faith. The Jews, however, did not merely assert this, but that it was not possible to be
Justified by faith. But himself turns even what had taken place to another account, that having shown the thing to be so great, that even after it had taken place, it required faith, he might seem with good reason to bestow a crown on these. And he uses the words which are found in the Old Testament, being always at pains to keep quite clear of the charges of love of novelties and of opposition to it. This is the kicker here, folks. the tail end of it all. For this which he here says of faith, Moses says to them of the commandment, referring back to Leviticus 18:5. So
Showing that they had enjoyed enjoyed at God’s hand a great benefit. For there is no need to say he means that one must go up to heaven or cross a great sea and then receive the commandments, but things so great and grand hath God made of easy access to us. And what meanth the phrase, the word is nigh thee? That is, it is easy. For in thy mind and in thy tongue is thy salvation. There’s no long journey to go, no seas to sail over, no mountains to pass to get saved. But if you be not minded to cross so much as the threshold, you may even while you sit at home be saved.
For in thy mouth and in thy heart is the source of salvation. And then on another score also he makes the word of faith easy and says that God raised him from the dead. For just reflect upon the worthiness of the worker and you will no longer see any difficulty in the thing. So again seeing the compare and contrast between what Moses told the Jews over and against Abraham. The law and gospel contrasted in the figures of Abraham and Moses as well. But one does not need to travel all around the world searching high and low to find salvation. It lies in the power
Of the heart and tongue. Someone sitting at home can be saved. And keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the perfect worker of righteousness. Now he goes on to speak about the work of the worker of righteousness, Jesus Christ. And the sum of the matter of what he’s getting at in regards to Romans 10. But that the resurrection is easy too has been shown even to those who are very unbelieving from the might of the worker of it. Since then the righteousness is greater and light and easy to receive. It is not a sign of the utmost contentiousness to leave what is
Light and easy and set out about or and set about impossibilities. Since then the righteousness is greater and light and easy to receive. Is it not a sign of the utmost contentiousness to leave what is light and easy and set about impossibilities? For they could not say that it was a thing they declined as burdensome. See then how he deprivives them of all excuse. For what do they deserve to have said in their defense? who choose what is burdensome and impractical and pass by what is light and able to save them and give them those things which the law could not give.
All this can come only from a contentious spirit which is in a state of rebellion against God. For the law is gling but grace is easy. The law, though they dispute never so much, does not save. Grace yieldth the righteousness resulting from itself, and that from the law likewise. What plea then is to rescue them, since they are disposed to be contentious against this, but cling to that to no purpose whatever? Then since he had made a strong assertion, he again confirms it from the scripture. close quote. Now remember, he is speaking about the impossibility of the sinner to keep the
Law to receive righteousness. He’s recognizing Paul’s contrast between law and gospel. The worker of salvation, Jesus Christ, can bring about a greater righteousness that is light and easy to receive. So why in the world, he asks, would you turn from this to something heavy and impossible? Paul was writing to Romans, Jewish Christians, Jewish Christians in Rome, who would have been coming from a mindset that righteousness can’t come by faith. So, Chrysum rhetorically asked, “What sort of defense can be put forth in choosing something burdensome over
And against what is light and easy and able to save you? Something the law cannot give a person.” That’s the law gospel distinction, my friends. This is in the the fourth century. And thinking that you can somehow have this dual melded effort, which we’re going to look at here momentarily, is rebellion to God. Amen. The law is gling, but grace is easy. And that is exactly correct. The law does not save. And no, he also adds in there, the reason we read the whole thing is because you’re going to get Adventists that are going to comment under this
Video now and say, “You’re just seeking to live lawless.” So that’s why he read the whole thing because no, even Chrysum was not an Antonyomian. He was not saying the law has no use, no purpose. Throw it away. Not at all. The problem is the SDA church has mixed these two covenants and their gospel is supposedly that you can have a doover at the covenant of works with Jesus’s help and then keep it perfectly which will lead to you developing a perfect righteousness that mirrors Christ. No, Jesus fulfilled the covenant of works perfectly. In Adventist theology, he did not come to
Fulfill in that sense. He came to demonstrate to point you back to the law like we will see. But salvation is holy of the gospel which includes the good news that Jesus has fulfilled the righteous requirements of the law and he alone not you with his help having who knows how many doovers. And then on top of this, you try to explain this often times to Adventists, but their their brains are so saturated in the great controversy, they think you’re siding with Satan, which is truly the ultimate deception because the the claim is Satan. That’s Satan’s claim. The law can’t be kept.
Well, that’s like the ultimate deception now because you believe the truth is a lie and you believe the lie as truth, which will keep you from ever being able to to see out of it. But this is the law gospel distinction, folks. It’s ancient. It was not novel invented by 16th century troublemakers like Martin Luther, but it is fundamental to Protestant theology, something the SDA church claims to be an heir of. But now let’s look at if the SDA church understands this distinction. Notice first fundamental belief number 19 the law of God says quote
The great principles of God’s law are embodied in the ten commandments and exemplified in the life of Christ they express God’s love will and purposes concerning human conduct in relationships and are binding upon all people in every age these precepts are the basis of God’s covenant with his people and the standard in God’s judgment. Through the agency of the Holy Spirit, they point out sin and awaken a sense of of need for a savior. Salvation is all of grace and not of works. And its fruit is obedience to the commandments. This obedience develops Christian
Character and results in a sense of well-being. It is evidence of our love for the Lord and our concern for our fellow human beings. The obedience of faith demonstrates the power of Christ to transform lives and therefore strengthens Christian witness. Close quote. Now there is a lot here that we could unpack but we are going to focus on particularly the distinction between law and gospel. First order of business they state that the law is the basis of God’s covenant with his people. And this is why you will find me on record, folks, saying that their system could rightly
Be called a term that I have coined mono covenantalism. Adventists do not like when I say this, but functionally speaking, that’s what it is. And it is a telltale sign that they do not understand this distinction because if they did, they would understand the law is not the basis of the covenant of grace. Grace is. That’s where the gospel is found. The law is the basis of the covenant of works. But there is no distinction between these two covenants in their system. Furthermore, no, the decalogue is not the standard in God’s judgment. The God man, Christ Jesus, is.
And this is the problem in their system, folks. They have overextended the law due to their pre-earth origin story, which results in the law itself being this divine thing, almost like an external thing to God that has existed alongside him forever. They say salvation is all of grace and not of works and its fruit is obedience to the ten commandments. And here’s where we come to the big old fork in the road. Okay? Because what do they practically mean by this? Not just, oh look, we used all the right Christian phrases and buzzwords. No, no. What is applied and practically walked
Out? For example, they can’t say lawkeeping is only the fruit of being saved when they also claim that if a person hears their special end times message, which includes their unique view of the Sabbath, and rejects it, they’ll be damned. But in their fundamental beliefs book, the exposition of the beliefs from their church under the section the law and the gospel, they say, quote, chapter 19 on the law of God. This is their exposition of their fundamental belief. Salvation is a gift that comes by grace through faith, not by works of the law. Ephesians 2:8. No deed of the
Law, no effort, however commendable, and no good works, whether they be many or few, sacrificial or not, can in any way justify the sinner. Titus 3:5, Romans 3:20. Throughout scripture, there is a perfect harmony between the law and the gospel, each upholding the other. Close quote. So, you aren’t saved by works of law. It’s only of faith. And throughout scripture, the law and the gospel uphold one another. So what is practically meant by this? Notice Pope Ellen Desire of Ages page 608. Quote, Christ had repeatedly shown that his father’s law contains something deeper than mere
Authoritative commands. In the law is embodied the same principle that is revealed in the gospel. The law points out man’s duty and shows him his guilt. to Christ he must look for pardon and for power to do what the law enjoins. Close quote. So just like the fundamental belief says that the law is the basis of God’s covenant with his people, we see what this means from the prophetus that the law and the gospel are one and the same. They are a symbiotic relationship where the law shows a person their guilt and that they have to look to Christ who can empower them to
Keep the law and find forgiveness for breaking it. So, one comes to Christ by faith. They’re given power they couldn’t otherwise have. And Jesus then points the person back to the law with their newly acquired power to now be able to keep it perfectly like he did. Because again, notice, quote, God has given man a complete rule of life in his law. Obeyed, he shall live by it through the merits of Christ. Transgressed, it has power to condemn. The law sends men to Christ and Christ points them back to the law. Close quote. Review and Herald September 27,
1881. Don’t give me that. Obedience is not just a fruit, folks. Obedience maintains one’s right standing before God in the system. It keeps one in God’s family. The law sends a person to uh yeah, sends a person to Christ by showing them they need a savior. He then points them back to the law by giving them the power to keep it and silence Satan’s accusations in the great controversy because that’s what does all the defining. She writes elsewhere again reviewing Herald. God will test all even as he tested Adam and Eve to see whether they will be
Obedient. Our loyalty or disloyalty will decide our destiny. Since the fall of Adam, men in every age have ex have excused themselves for sinning. charging God with their sins, saying that they could not keep his commandments. This is the insinuation Satan cast at God in heaven. But the plea, I cannot keep the commandments, need never be presented to God. For before him stands the Savior, the marks of the crucifixion upon his body, a living witness that the law can be kept. It’s not that men cannot keep the law, but that they will not. Close quote.
Sorry, the date on that should actually say May 28, 1901. Review and Herald, but no, scripture nowhere states that Satan in heaven cast accusations against the Ten Commandments. The SDA church, including the pioneers, read that Satan is called the accuser. And then they port this theory of all this stuff into that. But no, nowhere does scripture say this. And this is what informs their teaching though around why Jesus incarnated, which is the root issue. But very clearly she says your loyalty to God and eternal destiny is determined by your lawkeeping.
There is no law gospel distinction here. The covenant of grace is the covenant of works. The covenant of grace in their minds empowers you to do something you couldn’t. And then you now have to fulfill the covenant of works that Adam broke. Like Adam and Eve, all humanity is on probation and has blamed God for their sin, saying they can’t keep the law. But why should this never be said according to Ellen? Because a crucified savior stands bearing the marks of the crucifixion which silences this claim because he demonstrated that fallen sinners can
Keep the law perfectly. That’s part of why he died in the system to vindicate the law and show that it can be kept and silence Satan. And she says it isn’t that man cannot keep the law but will not. So remind your SDA friends that it isn’t just trying your best. They love to claim Ellen talked all about grace and they love the flowery quotes, but very clearly right there, perfect lawkeeping is what will save you. Jesus will empower you to be able to fulfill what the covenant of works requires. They’re going to always say, “Oh no, it’s Christ’s merits. He he
Gives you the merit.” You can use whatever flowery language you want. Again, practically speaking, it is a dual effort. And there’s no distinction between law and gospel. Jesus did not fulfill the covenant of works as the second Adam for you. He came to show you that you must do the same. And he can help you even though you’ve already violated it who knows how many times. The law does not work that way, folks. No doovers. You are not going to find that anywhere in the law. I challenge anyone to show us where the law has any sort of provisions for
Doovers. It doesn’t because the law does not bend and flex like that. God is not unjust. Which is why you need Jesus’s perfect passive and active obedience credited to you. What Ellen is espousing is very different than what Christians believe and what scripture teaches. It is simply a form of ancient heresy. It’s fundamentally plagianism, a a semipolagian model of of salvation. Notice what BB Warfield says regarding that in his book, The Plan of Salvation. He speaks about the Pelagian thinking. Quote, every man, so he’s espousing or or he’s he’s saying here what Pelagius was
Essentially saying. Every man is born in the same condition Adam was created, and every man continues throughout life in the same condition in which he is born. By his fault, Adam at most sets us a bad example, which however we need not follow unless we choose. And our past sins, while our course, while of course we may be called account for them, and must endure righteous punishment on their account, cannot in any way abide or contract our inherent power of doing what is right. I say, declares Pelagius, that man is able to be without sin, and there he is able to keep the
Commandments of God. And this ability remains intact after not only Adam’s sin but any and every sin of our own. Close quote. So the only difference between what Allen put forth is that man does not inherently possess this ability which is why they are semipolagian. Without Jesus making it possible for you to have a second probation. That’s all of grace. It’s all of grace. He gave you a second probation, a second track keeping the law. It would be a lost cause. So you have to come to Jesus who can now empower you to do so perfectly. But once you do that, it’s
Functionally pelagian. Placing the SDA church once again on the wrong side of history. But to say that obedience is only a fruit of possessing salvation in the system is deception. I don’t care what they say. It is deception because practically applied and examined systematically. No, it isn’t. Because the system is not just semipolagian. It is a form of what is called covenantal gnomeism. You are in by your faith, kept by your works. Not Christ’s works, your works. Oh, it’s all of grace. It’s all of faith by grace through faith. Of course. Yeah.
But then you’re kept by obedience. That’s covenantal nomism. That’s why they will tell you, “No, no, no. It’s all of grace.” Which means without Christ, you wouldn’t have the the possibility to be able to keep the law. Had he not offered his plan to the father, you know, after three tries to come and ransom fallen man, it wouldn’t be possible. But when it comes to actually being rendered secure, sealed, and in eternity, your obedience to the law is what ultimately governs that. Not trying your best, like lots of SDAs try and boil it down to, including their
Scholars, like we will see next week, total perfection. Remember, it’s not that you can’t keep the law adventist. It’s that you don’t want to. So if you’re not keeping it perfectly, it’s because you don’t want to, not because you can’t. Don’t tell us it’s just fruit of uh of having salvation. Now, we’re not going to exhaust this subject by any means, but just to have a visual help and to show what the SDA church borrowed and filtered through the great controversy theme to arrive at their form of covenant theology, which is what all of this is under the
Umbrella of. Here is what classical covenant theology looks like. Okay? And like I said, we are looking at this not to do an exhaustive breakdown or to argue covenant theology and and over and against dispensationalism or any of that. Different discussion for a different day. The point is this is what the SDA pioneers ripped off and filtered through the great controversy theme to come up with their framework. In classical covenant theology, you have the singular covenant of redemption between the father, son, and spirit. It only involved the persons of the
Godhead. They then enacted this plan in time, which is what the eternity decree dotted line is showing. This was a covenant between the persons of the Godhead from eternity past, not an afterthought after creation. Within time, you then have two fundamental covenants being administered. And I want you to notice the little copy up in the top right as well, the the construct covenants, the little language there, because again, a lot of times people are going to say, “What? Where’s that lang where’s that exact language in the Bible?” That’s it’s not what we’re
Doing here. That’s that’s not the purpose. It’s fundamentally present. It’s just utilizing language to to describe what it is that we’re pulling out. But you have two fundamental covenants that are being administered throughout redemptive history. Covenant of works, law, covenant of grace, gospel. Haidderleberg catechism question that we looked at earlier used the phrase covenant of nature to refer to the covenant of works. That’s another term that people have used. But Adam covenant with God in so much as he gave stipulations to their relation uh
Regarding their relational positioning. If Adam obeyed, he would live. If he disobeyed, he would die. That’s it. There was no grace given there. He disobeyed and violated the stipulation, which should have resulted in his actual physical death that day as well, not just spiritual death. But instead of God damning him, he was gracious in the foretelling of the gospel in Genesis 3:15. This being when the covenant of grace was instituted, the promise of a redeemer who would come and fix what man broke. That redeemer then comes as the second Adam and fulfills the righteous
Requirements that the first Adam failed to uphold. And through his perfect active and passive obedience, he fulfills the covenant of nature entirely. So the act of obedience of Christ uh is his 24/7 365 to use you know human language never sinning in thought word deed or motive his passive obedience being his perfect submission to the father such as going to Calvary for his people to to suffer. He perfectly submitted himself to the father. Both of these things are necessary to be seen as righteous in God’s sight. If one does not have this, they do not meet the standard.
Only Christ does, which is one of the benefits of the covenant of grace. One is hidden in Christ Jesus. They’re united to Christ by their faith such that it is as if they live the life that Christ did despite being unworthy. His perfect fulfillment of the law is credited on their behalf such that the enmity between them and God is removed and they then have peace with God and are seen as holy and blameless before him all on the sake of Christ. It does not mean that there’s no obedience to God that follows, but that obedience is in a different category. It
Is not a retaining device that keeps one in God’s good graces. And I have yet to meet a single Adventist that is perfectly sinless and does not still struggle with sin. They like to get real bold when it comes to standing up for the law. And then you question them on how well they measure up and they start getting shifty and uncomfortable. The point being, the law is not the gospel. This distinction can be seen in the separation of the covenant of works and the covenant of grace. And this bleeds over into, like I said, all of scripture. There are statements of law
And statements of gospel. Now, notice the Adventist version of this. And no, I did not make this. This is a chart from an Adventist pastor who took what I just showed you and changed it to depict the SDA covenantal framework. So you’ll notice the time administration dotted line is removed because they don’t think God is actually working out a decree in time, but rather their God exists in and are bound by time. So, they’ve taken the covenant of redemption from classical covenant theology and it’s labeled as the covenant of life, aka the everlasting
Gospel, the SDA church’s unique present truth gospel message. But notice there is no distinction between the covenant of works and the covenant of grace like in the previous chart. That’s because included in their covenant of life is all of the aspects of the covenant of works which spans infinity. But since man fell, God was gracious and foretelling of one who would come and vindicate the law and silence Satan’s accusations. So you have the law and the gospel just like Ellen said, embibing the same principle. No distinction here. The law overlaps
The gospel in s to such a degree that the law is a part of what saves you. Paul plainly says in Romans 1, the gospel is the power of God for salvation to all that believe it. If the law and the gospel embibe the same principle, which as you can see visually here, that they overlap the two of them together, then yes, you’re saved to some whatever language you want to use by lawkeeping. And it’s faith and grace that enables you to do that. It isn’t strictly on the basis of what Christ accomplished. And this is why I say they are monovenalists. There is no distinction
Between the law and gospel. Fundamentally speaking, the law is the gospel in the system. Again, re review and Herald. They’re saying this over and over and over, folks. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit on with me on my throne, even as I also overcome and am set down by with my father on his throne. Quoting from scripture. Then she says on that, these are the words of our substitute and shity, the divine head of the church, himself, the mightiest of conquerors. He points his he points his disciples to his own life, to the test he bore, to
His self-denials and struggles and sufferings, and marks out the path of obedience for their feet through ridicule, contempt, scorn, mockery, rejection, and shameful death. Suffering and humiliation he bore in order to prove obedient to the law of God to magnify the law and make it honorable. And he lays down the conditions that must be met by those who would inherit eternal life. Victory can come alone through faith and obedience through following in his footsteps. The work of over overcoming is not confined to the martyrs. We too are to engage in the
Conflict in these days of subtle temptation to worldliness to self-confidence, pride, covetousness, and immortal or immorality. And to the overcomers will be given a crown of life and glory. Close quote. That statement is a perfect example of the mixing of law and gospel. In Adventist theology, it is not about Christ fulfilling the law such that its requirements can be imputed to the sinner in full and they can be seen as righteous solely on the basis of being in Christ. Now, in this system, Jesus died to show that the law can be kept. And by coming to him, he’ll empower you
To do like he did to keep the law perfectly. Then that person can go out into the world and vindicate God’s character from Satan’s accusations in the great controversy that God’s law can’t be kept and show yes it can. Here I am. Look at me. Those that do this will be found worthy of Christ’s atoning benefits and will then receive eternal life eventually. They do not possess that right now. That’s the Adventist gospel. the good news that Jesus came to silence Satan and show God’s law that his, you know, his laws of of the heavenly government can be kept. You can do it with his help
And you can silence Satan, too, vindicating God’s character and receive eternal life. So, they can say all they want, it’s all of grace and use Christian ease, but practically speaking, you’re in by faith, kept by obedience. That’s the role obedience plays. It is not just the fruit of being saved. Again, this is covenantal gnomeism. Look it up. You’re in by grace through faith, kept by your actions. And that is why I continue and will continue to say they are mono covenantalists. No distinction between law and gospel. Fundamentally speaking, the law is the gospel. The gospel is not
Simply a heralding of good news about Christ’s accomplishments, the person and work of Christ, and that in him you can be seen as though you lived the life he did. No, no, no, no, no. Very different. There’s a very different thing being said. Lots of former SD or, you know, former SDAs leave Adventism and they struggle to pinpoint some of these things. You got to understand the great controversy worldview. That’s what’s informing all this, not the Bible. They’re bringing that to the Bible like we saw a couple weeks ago and countless other weeks.
They bring that to the Bible that does the defining. But the Bible has a very different message.
Your faith gets you in. Your obedience keeps you. Not Jesus. How well you do determines your destiny because it’s supposed to be the demonstration of the power of God to totally, you know, victory. They love the word victory. Victory, victory. It’s always about sinless perfectionism. We believe God has the power to really free you completely from sin. Oh, are you completely free from sin? Well, I try my best. Yeah, right. And no, the martyrs did not walk out in obedience to be saved. See, this is the problem. They they tack this on oftentimes constantly. Matthew 5:48 to
Be saved. That’s the underlying assumption they have there. And it’s like, well, no, that’s not that’s not what’s going on there. The martyrs did not walk out in obedience to be saved. The martyrs walked out in obedience because like Abraham, they were saved. And a true saving faith takes root in a person’s heart, which it leads to real action, such as standing for Christ amidst persecution, not because they were trying to maintain being in God’s good graces. Like, oh, they’re going to go and cut my head off at the gallow. Well, I got to do this if I want to be saved.
No, they loved the Lord Jesus Christ and they were willing to go to the gallows for him. And just to really make sure that this is driven home once again, quote, Desire of Ages, page 763, the warfare against God’s law which was begun in heaven will be continued until the end of time. Every man will be tested. Obedience or disobedience is the question to be decided by the whole world. All will be called to choose between the law of God and the laws of men. Here the dividing line will be drawn. There will be but two classes. Every character will be fully developed
And all will show whether they’ve chosen the side of lo the side of loyalty or that of rebellion. Close quote. So don’t try and tell us that Ellen only taught trying your best. No, total perfection, fully developed character. And it’s only people that have the fully perfect developed character that’ll make it. Do not let SDAs try and tell you that their source materials do not put this forth. It is central to the system. I don’t care about the individual SDA church somewhere. Oh, my pastor. Oh, I don’t believe that. We get that constantly. That’s that’s not what we’re
Doing here. You might believe all sorts of stuff. I can point to people in your movement that believe all sorts of crazy stuff and yet not a single one of them keeps the law perfectly. Takes about five seconds of talking with them for them to admit this and appeal. Well, I’m I’m trying my best. Nope. Not the standard. Because remember, it’s not that you you can’t. It’s because you don’t want to. So every Adventist that you come across, you should make the law be a weight that bears down on them so hard and then bring in that gospel that is just ah
It’s like spiritual jacuzzi. But Satan began attacking the law and this war rages on down on earth. Disobedience or obedience to the law is the deciding factor. If you perfectly obey, your character will be fully developed to mirror Jesus’s perfectly. He’ll gradually impart his his righteous merits to you gradually over time to the point where you eventually don’t need that anymore. And as we’ve looked at, I don’t know how many times that has to happen before probation closes and Jesus ceases being a mediator or you won’t be able to stand. Satan will get you. You won’t be able to
Stand in the time of trouble. So if not, if you don’t get to a perfectly developed character, you’re choosing to side with Satan and you will be lost. This is a total blending of law and gospel. So the SDA church needs to stop trying to put up this front like, “Oh, no, no, no. We just believe like the rest of you.” No, you don’t. No, you don’t. Stop doing that. No one in Adventist theology has eternal life yet. I’m not saying that no Adventists are saved, by the way, when I say that because I think lots of people are actual genuine born again people
Within the movement and they do have eternal life whether they believe it or not if they’re born again. But according to the system, the theology, no, no one has eternal life yet. You are on probation to see how well you do. And if you can be trusted to not let sin enter into heaven again, you have to pass the test of loyalty because you are on probation just like Adam was. And you have to perfectly silence Satan’s accusations. It is only when you do this that you will possess eternal life. Now, I know that was a lot, but not everything is in sound bites. This is a
Complex subject, but understand they don’t affirm the law gospel distinction that is central to properly handling and interpreting the Bible. They constantly take statements of law and make them gospel, thinking that their statements of how one’s made right with God. And it is all a result of this warped covenantal view due to the great controversy worldview. Now, we’re going to listen to an example and see the fruit of this. Remember, Jesus fulfilled the covenant of works, the law, perfectly as the second Adam. By placing your faith in his perfect person and
Work, you can be seen as righteous before God in full. Romans 8:1, no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Romans 5:1, you can have peace with God, being justified by faith. For the law to be able to condemn the believer, it would have to be able to condemn Jesus. And it can’t. So this talk from Randy Ski is titled the power of obedience. So especially keep in mind that last quote that we looked at. Here we go. People who love God. I love people who love God’s word. I believe the Seventh Day Adventist Church is God’s remnant people in these last
Days. And I don’t care about being politically incorrect. I just don’t care. God’s remnant people can be identified biblically and one of the identifying marks is they keep the commandments of God all 10. And so I thank God for this church and for what has meant to me. And my prayer for you is that you will remain faithful to the truth no matter what other people do. Whether that other person is your spouse, your mother, your father, your cousin, your friend, your enemy, do not ever leave this church for any reason. Jesus said in John 6:70, “Have I not chosen you 12? One of you is
A devil.” Jesus had a devil among the 12 disciples. But the disciples were still the early church. Are you following me? The church does not cease to be God’s church because there are devils in it. The place to find devils is in the church. Devils don’t waste time going to the casino and to bars and to her houses. The devil already has those places. The devils come to church. And so even though your pastor may be a well-dressed hypocrite, you are still in God’s remnant church. Are you following me? It is still. Don’t leave and go set up a church where nobody commits any
Sins. You’ll be wasting your time. Don’t leave. Stay in God’s church. And why should you stay? When a lot of disciples were leaving Christ in John 6:66, from that time many of his disciples walked back uh left him and walked no more with him. And Jesus said to the 12, “Will you also go away?” Simon Peter answered said to him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. What Peter was saying, we are staying because of what you preach. Not because you have a building, because Christ had none. Not because the members drive Mercedes Benz and Lexus and BMWs.
No, we are staying because of what you preach. For those of you who don’t have a church, when you contemplate joining a church, don’t ask, “Is the pastor handsome?” Don’t ask, “Where do the members work?” Don’t ask, “Is the church in the suburbs?” Ask, “What do they teach?” And what they teach must correspond with, “Thus says the Lord.” If they do not teach thus sayith the Lord, you will simply be enjoying a social experience, not a worship experience. Because the foundation of worship is obedience. Okay? He says the SDA church is God’s remnant church because they are
Identified in scripture as those who keep the the commandments of God. All 10. Folks, when it comes to Revelation 14:12-13 and their claim to being the commandment keeping church, don’t even waste your time trying to argue proper hermeneutics with Revelation, how apocalyptic literature is to be handled, who John is writing to, and all sorts of other rabbit trails that can often lead nowhere. Simply go along the path with them and test the claim, which is exactly what we’re going to do here. Mr. Ski, I’m glad you don’t care about being politically correct because either do I.
Adventism is in spiritual fornication. Sir, you guys are not keeping the commandments. What you mean by this is we keep the fourth commandment, we think, and no one else does. So therefore, we’re commandment keepers. But no, sir, you guys have a false god, an idol, which means you’re in violation of all four of the first commandments, which are all God-facing. We have looked at this I don’t know how many times at this point but we will keep doing so especially for those who this may be your first time with us. Let’s examine various aspects of who the
SDA church by way of their prophetus claims that Jesus is. Okay. Desire of Ages page 753. Quote Satan with his fierce temptations rung the heart of Jesus. The Savior could not see through the portals of the tomb. Hope did not present to him his coming forth from the grave a conqueror or tell him of the father’s acceptance of the sacrifice. He feared that sin was so offensive to God that their separation was to be eternal. Close quote. So while on the cross, the adventist Jesus doubted his resurrection because Satan was able to twist his heart causing him to doubt. He couldn’t see
Through the other side of the tomb and feared there would be eternal separation between himself and God the Father. Tell us you do not understand the two natures of Christ without telling us you don’t understand the two natures of Christ. Not only this, but doubt is unbelief and unbelief is a sin. This would mean that Jesus was not perfect in his passive obedience. At some point, he didn’t have perfect faith and belief. unwavering faith. Furthermore, Jesus plainly stated multiple times in his ministry that he would assuredly raise himself from the
Dead. John 2, John 10, etc. This is heresy. And no, the devil did not twist the mind of God causing him to doubt. Jesus knows all things. John 16:29-31, John 21:17, John 2:23-25. But when you also teach that Jesus was only a man while on earth and set his divine nature aside, it makes sense why you would buy into what Ellen is putting putting forth here. Notice the SDA church’s website. We’ve looked at this a number of times. Philippians 2:6 through8 says that even though Jesus is God, he set his divine nature aside and took on human nature. He came to serve
Us to show us God’s love for us and live as our example. He came to minister to people through his perfectly obedient life. He obeyed the father in every way, even when it led to a humiliating death on a cross. Close quote. No, Jesus did not set his divine nature aside. This is what is called the canosis or canotic interpretation of Philippians 2. And it’s wrong badly. We’ve looked at this a number of times. The setting aside in reference is referring to Christ’s rightful status in heaven and his glory that was veiled by lowering himself a little while by
Taking on the uh human flesh to then resurrect and return to his rightful estate with his glory fully revealed again as the God man in glorified flesh. The entire point that Paul is making in Philippians 2 is that Christ is the example for us regarding humility and he exhorts us to be like Christ. So, we’re supposed to set our divine natures aside. Obviously, no. We’re not divine because that’s not what’s being said. We’re not to think higher of ourselves than others. Because like Christ who humbled himself by adding unto himself human flesh of all people the the least
Deserved to experience such a thing did not count his rightful status in heaven something that he was just going to hold on to and and not you know he gave of himself free freely as the ultimate free will offering but like Christ who humbled himself by adding unto himself human flesh we too should humble ourselves and serve others that’s the point of what’s being said Furthermore, this can’t be the correct understanding because divine attributes are ascribed to the incarnate Christ while he is on earth. He forgives sins. Scripture says that’s something that
Only God can do. He sees what’s in people’s hearts and minds. Mark chapter 2. Something only God can do. There are all sorts of divine attributes that are ascribed to Christ while incarnate. He did not set that aside temporarily while on the earth. Both natures, human and divine, are ascribed to the single person. But speaking of doubt and unbelief, and unbelief being a sin, as well as the Adventist Jesus only being a man on earth, notice what Ellen White says about his nature. Quote, “Christ, the second Adam, came to a world polluted and marred to live a life
Of perfect obedience. The race weakened in moral power was unable to cope with Satan who ruled his subjects with cruel authority. Christ came to stand on the field of battle in warfare against all the satanic forces by representing in his life the character of God. He sought to win men back to his allegiance. Clad in his vestments of humanity, the son of God came down to the level of those he wished to save. In him was no guile or sinfulness. He was ever pure and undefiled. Yet he took upon him our sinful nature. close quote. So, the Adventist Jesus wasn’t a sinner.
He was undefiled and pure. Yet, he had a sinful nature. Yeah, makes total sense. But this evidences she had no clue what she was talking about because this is oxymoronic, par for the course for Ellen White. Having a sinful nature would mean he was not blemish free. Even if you want to try and say he had one, but he never sinned, which is what they try and say. Uh you can see a source on that for example in George Knight’s book SDA historian uh search for identity because that’s what he tries to say when he’s talking about well he he brings this up
When he’s talking about the last generation theology controversy and and all of that. But having a sinful nature would mean he wasn’t blemish free. Even if you want to try and say he had one but he never sinned. his human nature itself would have been tainted and he wouldn’t have been the spotless antityypical Passover lamb that the Old Testament foretold of which means his sacrifice would have been tainted and SDA theology does not recognize that Jesus is not in the lineage of Adam because as the second Adam he did not have Adam as his federal head he’s not
In the line of Adam’s posterity born dead in sins and trespasses like all of us it’s why the virgin birth is such critical doctrine. But this is further evidenced in Romans 5 1 Corinthians 15 where Paul compares and contrasts the first and second Adams as two distinct representative heads. Jesus didn’t come with Adam as his federal head, but he’s the second Adam. But the SDA system can’t have this because the Adventist Jesus came to show that you can keep the law with his help and silence Satan. So he had to be exactly identical to how we are in the
Fallen line of Adam but without sin to show that a fallen sinner can keep the law which is a glimpse into how literally everything in this system is defined by the great controversy worldview not scripture. Even sinful nature is defined by something esoteric that only they understand. Apparently Jesus had a sinful nature but he wasn’t a sinner. Huh? Oh yeah. Come come in here. you you need us to teach you. Gotcha. Now, we could keep going and have countless articles on our website laying out the Adventist Jesus in and and and how he’s a very different figure than
The one of scripture and history, but even outside of idolatry, Mr. Ski, the SDA church bears false witness about the Christian church constantly. It’s hardcoded into SDA theology which is littered with lies, slander, and falsities about the body of Christ. Notice, quote, I saw that since Jesus had left the holy place of the heavenly sanctuary and had entered within the second ba, the churches were left as were the Jews, and they’ve been filling up with every unclean and hateful bird. I saw great iniquity and vileeness in the churches. Yet they profess to be Christians. Their
Profession, their prayers, and their exhortations are an abomination in the sight of God. Close quote. Spiritual gifts volume 1, page 189. Ellen White claimed that God showed her that the churches that rejected their 1844 fanaticism and oh no, no, no, no. The the infancy of the investigative judgment being the new, you know, pivot after 1844 didn’t pan out. All the churches that rejected that fanaticism, she says, were left as the Jews in Jesus’s day. One of her favorite analogies to use. They’ve tried rewriting history on this to say that the churches of the day rejected the
Literal second coming of Jesus. That’s why Ellen and her family were kicked out of the meth uh the the Chestnut Street Methodist Church. Yeah, that’s what Ellen says. But then you can actually look at the receipts and no, they were a bunch of fanatics that were trying to spread false dates setting and Millerite fanaticism while claiming everyone else is apostate in Babylon. People like Charles Fitch preaching damnation on everyone but Millerites. They were getting influenced by people like that and then taking it back to their church being a nuisance.
But Ellen says, “The churches that rejected them, the Millerite fanaticism, the 1844 fanaticism, the 1843 fanaticism, all of it, the churches that rejected that were shown to be full of iniquity and violence. Yet they professed to be Christians. Their profession, prayers, and exhortations are an abomination to God, though.” Well, guess what? We still reject the 1844 silliness and fanaticism, which means this is still apparently true. the same movement, folks, that wants to tell us, “No, no, no. We’re Christians just like you, brother.” Yeah, think again.
I I wish that were the case. Leave Adventism. Come beh Come believe the truth. But Ellen’s personal angst with being duped by William Miller and the Methodist church, not wanting to be associated with her and her family’s fanaticism is what turned into God supposedly telling her that they were a part of the wicked world. Anyways, it’s like grade school na boo boo type thinking. They were booted from the Methodist church and then oh, Ellen conveniently has visions regarding all these other churches and them not listening to them and oh well God’s rejected them anyways.
Okay. And this is saying a lot considering the Harmons were a part of the fanatic fringe part of Methodism, the shouting Methodists who were already pretty wild. So to get kicked out of that for fanaticism and date setting is saying a lot. But another statement in line with her favorite analogy using the Jews who rejected Jesus to equate Christians with quote the greatest prejudice of the Jewish nation of priests and rulers was stirred up against Christ because the people preferred to listen to Jesus rather than to them. The very same feelings of prejudice will be manifest
In the priests and rulers of this time. We can do nothing that would close up the way before us in this country like taking a position of superiority and putting before the people that we consider them heathen. In truth, they are worse than the heathen. But this we are not to tell them. The clergy consider themselves as teachers, highly religious, and their churches send out missionaries to the work of converting the savages. but to have the implication that a similar work must be done for them, they would consider the worst kind of insult. Close quote.
So, she was writing to an SDA missionary in England who was wondering about how to spread the Adventist message. She tells him that the Christian religious leaders of the day, the clergy, would have the same disposition as the Jews of Jesus’s day. Because of this, they can’t take a position of superiority, which would close up opportunities for them to evangelize these people. They aren’t to tell them, the Christian clergy, that they are worse than heathen, even though they think they are. Because the Christian clergy send out their own missionaries
Like this guy, the Adventist missionary. And the Christian clergy consider themselves to be highly educated. So to tell them that a similar work of conversion must be done for them when they’re sending out their own missionaries. Well, the Christians would see that as the worst kind of insult. More bearing false witness and slander against the body of Christ coming from your prophetus who is codified in your movement’s belief system as being divinely inspired. Now, we could go on and on and on with more quotes in that vein. God’s rejected us. He’s angry with us. Our churches are
Filled with evil angels masquerading as Christians and the pastors are actually tools of Satan that use the Bible to trick people into thinking uh that what they’re saying is true just like Satan twisted the word of God in the wilderness with Jesus yada yada. So no Mr. Ski you guys are not the commandment keeping church which is why it’s a telltale sign that when you guys say this you have the fourth commandment in mind but the seventh day Sabbath does not vindicate Adventism and it’s it’s seriously unfortunate how many SDAs think this way. They think, “Oh, if I
Can somehow validate the seventh day Sabbath, that validates Adventism.” Not even close. Not even close. Talk about swallowing a camel to strain at a nat. My goodness. Adventism has a mountain of heresies, contradictions, errors, including a false gospel, which evidences without a shadow of a doubt the SDA movement is under the curse of God, just like any other sect that preaches a false gospel. Galatians 1. But notice, he said, “Don’t leave the SDA church to go start a church somewhere where no one sins. You’d be wasting your time.” Ah, right.
So, you aren’t the commandment keeping church like you claim. Oh, no, no, no. But by commandment keeping, we mean we actually try to uphold all of that. Ah, okay. But don’t leave. He says they’re not actually keeping the commandments. They think they keep the Sabbath, which he alludes to and will more in a moment. So, stay where you are, Mr. and Mrs. Adventist. That’s his plea. If the Sabbath is what’s keeping you in Adventism, I implore you to utilize your God-given reasoning faculties and recognize that that doesn’t save Adventism. It’s not unique to the SDA church. It’s
Not even unique to the 19th century. Like this idea that they have that they’re restoring this lost relic. Gotcha. But apparently having a false god, a false gospel, a false prophet, and countless contradictions and errors is negated because they congregate on Saturday, which equates somehow to keeping the Sabbath. But Randy Randy SK sounds like he sounds concerned like many SDA salesmen do because like I said, their movement is in trouble and they’re losing people like crazy. His aggression comes across very cultlike. Don’t ever leave this movement ever
Under no circumstances. Doesn’t matter what anyone else says or does. Don’t listen and never leave. This is a cultic, my friends. Christians do not do this. When I became Presbyterian after being Baptist, there was zero concern. Had to do with like finer theological mechanics. It’s just like everything in Adventism is a dividing line issue because unlike the SDA church tries to put forth, theology is broad and complex. I know they think it’s all a cakewalk because they have two million extra words from God and a prophet that God showed more than any other human
Being on the face of the earth in all of human history. But no, theology is complex. But this is insight into how salvation is tied to being affiliated with Adventism. In many of their minds, leaving is a death sentence. There’s no truth outside of them. Leaving Adventism is akin to leaving Christ. Let’s listen to a now deleted small clip from Isaac Olunji, SDA pastor at Stateline SDA Church. Yes, Dr. O, we keep receipts. So, deleting it didn’t do you any good. Lots of SDA say this is the fanatic friend stream of their movement despite Dr. O being a professor at one of their
Universities and a pastor in their organization. What they mean is Dr. O is forthright and doesn’t hold back and is at least honest enough to state the true belief. This is from a Q&A that they held at their church where someone asked about other Sabbathke keepers in other churches. Will they be saved? Listen. Go ahead, sister. Okay. I wanted to say about um what about um like the the church uh the United Church of God that they worship on Saturdays, but they don’t have the third angel messages. They don’t have the gift of prophecy. No. So even though they’re worshiping and
Keeping the Sabbath or they’re not considered a remnant, they’re not. Okay. I just wanted to make clear that up. And also I just wanted to say I left the Holiness Church because of the Sabbath and the three angels messages and the sanctuary. And there you go. Sabbath isn’t even enough in Adventism, Mr. Ski. You have to have the SDA church’s entire present truth gospel package, which is what’s actually unique to you guys, not the Sabbath. But thank you, Dr. O, for that forthright honest admission. SDAs constantly will claim we’re lying when we say this, but there you go.
Salvation is tied to being in God’s supposed remnant church and embracing their entire everlasting gospel, which is entirely distinct and unique to them. They have their own mission, their own mission and message distinct and separate from the Christian church. Further evidence, further evidencing that no, this movement is not Christian. It is at odds with the Christian church and is an enemy of the Christian church. Not all the individual people. 7th Day Adventism trademark the organization. But he appealed to John 6:70 where Jesus rhetorically asked, “Have I not chosen
You 12 and one of you is a devil?” So, he’s trying to make the parallel to the SDA church being chosen by God, but even amidst God’s chosen people, there’s heretics and devils. And even if it’s small and even if it looks like, how in the world could this be true? Because we’re literally less than 1% of the world. He tries to make a parallel there. Well, look at the early church. It was still God’s church. No, when he uses the word church, he’s talking about the SDA church. But my the irony, sir, that’s Adventism amidst the body of Christ. a heretical sect that rose up
And needs marked and avoided like Paul exhorts the church to do. But more importantly, this is a perfect example of taking a generality and making a faulty application. Judas was the unique son of predition that scripture foretold of. Notice first Psalm 41:9 David writing about the heartache of the betrayal of a friend. simple verse. Even my close friend in whom I trusted who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me. So more than likely this is in reference to uh Ahaphel I believe his name was probably butchering the pronunciation but it’s not important I guess. But like
Much of the psalms this is also a messianic prophecy which is seen in Jesus’s own reference to this psalm at the last supper which involved bread. Notice John 13:16-18. Jesus says, “Truly, truly I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. I’m not speaking of all of you. I know whom I have chosen, but the scripture will be fulfilled. He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.” So this messianic psalm foretold about
Judas who would betray Christ and was speaking of more than just David’s betrayal of a friend. Citing Jesus’s words in John 670 to try and make a parallel to the SDA church being chosen and amongst them there will be devils like Judas to, you know, stand strong is a pretty poor application of the text. We also saw how you alluded to the SDA church being the restoration of the apostolic church, something we hear them constantly tout. But then he said, “If the preaching is not a thus sayeth the Lord, then you will be simply enjoying a social experience.” Oh,
Right. Like how the SDA church teaches Jesus was inaugurated as a high priest at his ascension, contrary to a plain, thus sayeth the Lord. You mean like how the SDA church teaches that Jesus will cease mediating at a point in the future contrary to the plain thus sayith the Lord of Hebrews 7? You mean like how the SDA church teaches that during the daily ministry of the Levitical priests, blood transferred sin in type to the sanctuary for it to rest until the day of atonement despite a plain thus sayeth the Lord of Leviticus chapter 4 clearly refuting this? You mean like how the SDA
Church teaches Ellen White was a prophet and the identifying mark of the remnant church despite her failing the biblical test of a prophet without question? You mean like how the SDA church teaches the Sabbath is the seal of God, which is nowhere stated as a plain thus sayeth the Lord, but plainly that the Holy Spirit is the seal of God. You mean like how you guys teach that Sunday will be the mark of the beast after a national turned international Sunday law is mandated at the behest of a three-fold union between Romanism, apostate Protestantism, and spiritualism. That’s
All just a plain thus sayeth the Lord. so plain that literally no one thought of this until you guys came along with a totally unique worldview that no one prior to you had. But it’s the key to really understanding the Bible. Hey, hey, Randy, go ahead and show us your guys’ entire biblical paradigm while you’re at it, which your scholars outright admit doesn’t come from the Bible, but was given to you guys exclusively. And this paradigm does all the defining of everything in the Bible, giving you guys a supposed infallible interpretation. This is why any sort of lip service that
They give, I it just dismiss it because you just assume that because you cite a proof text, you’re vindicated. However you apply that proof text, it’s valid because you’ve consulted the approved sources that tell you you’re correct. We’ve only seen this uh Adventism strictly biblical stunt, you know, 5 million times at this point. What did God say to Saul with Samuel as his spokesperson? Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices? That’s worship. As in obeying the voice of the Lord. Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice.
Okay, it was short. He cites 1st Samuel 15:22, “Obedience is better than sacrifice.” Before moving forward, we have to establish what Samuel said this in response to. Okay, we are going to read 1st Samuel 15:17-24. Pay very close attention. And Samuel said, “Though you are little in your own eyes, are you not the head of the tribes of Israel? The Lord anointed you king over Israel. And the Lord sent you on a mission and said, ‘ Go devote the destruction, go de devote to destruction the sinners, the Amalachites, and fight against them until they are consumed. Why then did
You not obey the voice of the Lord? Why did you pounce on the spoil and do what was evil in the sight of the Lord? And Saul said to Samuel, “I have obeyed the voice of the Lord. I have gone on a mission on which the Lord sent me. I have brought Aag, the king of Amalecch, and I have devoted the Amalachites to destruction. But the people took of the spoil, sheep, and oxen, the best of the things devoted to destruction to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal. And Samuel said, “Has the uh has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifice as in obeying in obeying
The voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.” Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.” And thus the reading of God’s holy word. 1st Samuel 15 is a story about Saul who rationalized and explained his sin away.
This is key. He was God’s chosen king over Israel, but then disobeyed God by following his own desires, influenced by being a people pleaser. He was given honor of being, you know, the honor of being God’s instrument of judgment with an easier said than done task, utterly destroy the Amalachites, but he didn’t do that. And Samuel says he swooped down to the spoils, some translations will say, which was evil because God commanded that all the material goods of the Amalachites also be destroyed for God’s honor, not just the people. But Saul proceeds to uphold his
Innocence, contradicting himself actually and shifting the blame because on the one hand he claims to have killed all the Amalachites, sparing their king, Ag. But previously back in the earlier verses, he accused the people of bringing back the material goods to sacrifice to God while recognizing they should have been destroyed. And he did this at the behest of seeking the approval of man rather than God. So, it is to this defending of his error that Samuel then says, “God does not take much delight in the sacrifices as in obedience.” Saul didn’t plunder the
Goods that God commanded him to plunder, but instead took them to then be used as sacrifices to God. And God responds by saying that he preferred Saul would have listened to what he commanded and destroyed the goods, not kept them to then try and sacrifice them to God. which is why he then goes on to contrast rebellion, which Saul was engaged in, with the sin of witchcraft. The problem in 1st Samuel 15 is not the offerings, but the disobedience of God’s commands and the desire for approval of people rather than the approval of man. Saul is a picture of how fallen humanity
Rationalizes their sin, blame shifts, etc., and ultimately points us to the good news of the gospel that humanity does not have to suffer in their sins because Christ took sin upon himself such that through his his final, you know, imperfect sacrifice and obedience, you can have peace with God. But this is a historical accounting that applies today to point us to the gospel. There could be many applications, I guess, valid applications of that text. You could ask Hebraasists. I’m sure that or Hebraists. I’m sure that they could uh point out a number of other things
Better than I could. But the point being, understand that’s what’s going on in that verse. Okay? Now, watch what this guy is going to go on and say. Brace yourselves. Keep your special music. Obey me. Keep your large offering. Obey me. Obedience is better than sacrifice. And let me say one other thing that may cause you a little concussion. Obedience is better than sacrifice to the extent that obedience is preferable to any sacrifice, including the sacrifice of Christ.
What, bro? What are you talking about, man?
Yes, you heard that correctly. He applied this verse to the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ at Calvary and said that God prefers your obedience over the sacrifice of the son of God.
This man needs marked and avoided as a flaming heretic as that is blasphemous heresy that shows he does not understand the gospel at all. Let alone the law gospel distinction. Jesus’s passive and active obedience resulting in his perfect, blemishfree sacrifice is the only thing that can even make a believer’s obedience have any sort of pleasure to God. Apart from being in Christ, you’re nothing. You’re a condemned sinner. How prideful of you, sir. That was a demonic statement. Shame on you. Shame on you and may God rain down conviction over your heart and you publicly repent of
This blasphemous heresy and step down from the off office of sacred desk. You are unqualified. But this is insight into how some of of these SDA teachers view Christ’s holy and perfect sacrifice at Calvary. It isn’t this cataclysmic event that scripture clearly tells us it is. A person’s efforts in Randy SK’s context to obey the ten commandments are more valuable to God than the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I mean, wow. Wow. Yeah, Mr. Ski, I I’m I’m concussed. Not a little concussed. I’m like totally shell shocked. I couldn’t believe my ears when I first
Heard this. I’m still shell shocked. I’ve heard it like 15 times. Every time I hear I’m just like, “Wow, just shell shocked by how demonic and blasphemous of a statement that is.” Aspoused from an SDA pulpit with zero batting of the eye, zero discipline, zero reprimanding, nothing. They’ll just move along like it’s no big deal. It’s like once you’ve you think you’ve heard it all, there’s always another SDA that comes along to raise the bar. never ceases to amaze me. I hear this stuff as a born again Christian and wow. I asked one of my pastors about this
This past Lord’s day because I was curious what he thought of someone saying this. He he was shell shocked, perplexed, confused. It it just he didn’t understand why someone would make such a an insane statement in the name of 1st Samuel 15:22. He’s like, “What? What?” He couldn’t even believe his ears. I’m saying Christians hear this stuff. And then Adventist wonder, well, we’re just Christians like you. No, you’re not. Not when you have pastors that are saying stuff like this from the pulpit. And I know what they’re going to say. Well, that’s one person. That’s
Him. No, dude. If some person at our church in a PCA church said that, there would have been somebody stood up in the audience and reprimanded the person, rebuked them publicly. What are you talking about? What? Fundamental? You’re not qualified to be up there. It’s Jesus’s perfect passive and active obedience credited to a person, which his passive obedience includes his sacrifice as the Lord’s suffering servant that even allows for a person to even be pleasing to God in any way, shape, or fashion. It’s why the gospel is such glorious news. Dude, Christ has accomplished the
Redemption of all things and entered into the presence of God on behalf of his people, which opened the way for believers to enter as well. It’s a perfect example of not understanding the distinction between law and gospel. 1st Samuel 15:22 is not a statement of gospel. And to think that what’s being said there contextually supports the idea that God prefers your doings over the sacrifice of the perfect sinless son of God is dangerous, deceptive, Bible perverting heresy. Which is why we are going to look at this more closely to silence this abominable statement using scripture and
Wash our hands of this guy. Randy, I hope you hear this one day and I hope you repent, sir, publicly. And I hope you have a testimony. I came to know what the gospel actually was. And what I said there was flaming heresy. And I’m sorry for any person who I spiritually harmed in saying that because you were giving the speech to children.
And but if you’re an Adventist and you’re going to comment down in the videos, your demeanor is not very Christlike. Get out of here. Get out of here. You’re not cut out for what’s going on over here. We’re not listening to that. This is dangerous heresy, folks. Do you care about people’s souls? This is deception. This is Bible perversion. And then watch what he’s going to go on to say after this to justify this. But we’re going to bury this with the word of God because notice first Hebrews 9. After giving the layout of the earthly tabernacle in the first
10 verses, I’m sorry I tried to remain calm. I I tried to tell myself leading up this, I have to remain calm, but I’m sorry. This is righteous anger toward this. I want this guy to come to know the truth and realize the weight of what he said and how blasphemous and just demonic such a statement is. But in Hebrews 9, after giving the layout of the earthly tabernacle in the first 10 verses, the author continues in his compare and contrast of Christ being better, in this case, better than the Levitical priests. Hebrews 9 11-28 Hebrews 9 11-28 But when Christ appeared as a high
Priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent, not made with hands, that is not of this creation, he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of bulls and of goats and calves, but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal etal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a hepher sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself
Without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Therefore, he is the mediator of a new covenant so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance. since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. The author of Hebrews demonstrating a law gospel distinction, by the way. For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. For a will takes effect only at death, since it’s not in force as long as the one who made it is alive.
Therefore, not even the first covenant was inaugurated without blood. For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats with water and scarlet wool and hissup and sprinkled both the book itself and the people. Citing from Deuteronomy here, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” And in the same way, he sprinkled with the blood both the tent and all the vessels used in worship. Indeed, under the law, almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of
Blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. Thus, it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rights, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices, plural, than these. For Christ has entered not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself. now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own. For then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the
Foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put sin away by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. And thus the reading of God’s holy word. So unlike the Levitical priests who could only enter the presence of God once a uh uh one day a year and only the high priest with the bull with the blood of bulls
And goats secured an eternal redemption by means of his own blood. An eternal redemption. Remember this. He secured what? With his own blood?
Eternal redemption. He continues in verses 13 and 14 to say that unlike the blood of bulls and goats that was sprinkled and only purified the flesh, but had to be repeatedly done, Christ’s holy blood, which was offered up to God without blemish, can purify not just the flesh, but the conscience and quicken one to serve the living God. That would be obedience. That would be obedience, my friend. Christ’s perfect sacrifice and holy blood is what enables one to even be able to obey God in any capacity. And that obedience have any sort of pleasurable aroma
Before God because of Christ’s sacrifice. So Christ is the mediator of a better covenant than that of the Levites, which is able to bring an inter an eternal inheritance since the death of Christ, verse 15, redeems a person from the covenant of works. And he uses an example of a will. A will only takes effect when the one who wrote it dies. It isn’t in force if the person is alive. That’s the analogy he uses to compare to Christ’s death and the in inheritance believers receive on the basis of what what do people receive this inheritance on the basis of
Christ’s death. The will is not in effect until the death of the one who made the will. So the will or inheritance believers received can be applied in full because the death of the one who gave it took place. Again, the centrality of the sacrifice of Christ in all of this. So since the death of Christ has occurred verses 18 and 19, the new covenant was inaugurated on the basis of Christ’s holy and perfect blood, not that of bulls and goats. And without the shedding of blood, there’s no forgiveness of sins. which means you can try and obey all day long and without
Christ’s sacrifice, it’s meaningless. You’re still dead in your sins. You’re a walking corpse that needs raised to spiritual newness of life by being born again and united to Jesus Christ, set free to do good works. But then in verse 23, he reiterates the same thing that Colossians 1 does. That the single sacrifice of Christ purified heaven and earth, making peace by the blood of his cross. Notice verse 23 says sacrifices plural. We will get to this more in a moment, but the single sacrifice of Christ fulfills numerous sacrifices plural. And it’s the single sacrifice that, like
Was pictured with the Israelites, purified the dwelling place of God. Because verse 24, Christ entered not into merely a building made with hands, but into heaven itself. And he did so to appear in the presence of God on whose behalf? Believers, Christians. And it’s on the basis of his of his representation before the father that believers can be seen as righteous. We have a representation taking place here. Christ’s present his presence, his single sacrifice before the father. He he enters in and presents his single sacrifice before the father. It’s
Accepted. And as the representative of his people, he intercedes on their behalf. And the author went to great lengths in chapter 7 to explain this. He forever lives to make intercession for those whom he presents his sacrifice before the father. The sacrifice of Christ has eternal ramifications. While it does not get repeated and happens over and o and happen over and over and over again, it has eternal ramifications. Christ’s incarnation has eternal ramifications, which is why he will forever live to intercede for his people because he will forever be the God man.
The the mediation of Christ encompasses his incarnation. It’s not all that it is, but that’s a part of it. And the fact that he’ll always bridge the the the divide between sinners and God as man and God, the creature creator distinction, the God man is the bridge of that. But Jesus didn’t do this to offer himself repeatedly 9:25 like the Levitical high priest had to do every year with blood not their own. Because if that were the case, Jesus would have had to have suffered repeatedly since the foundation of the world. Instead, he appeared once at the
End of the ages to put sin away by what? The single sacrifice of himself. which is why he returns. Verse 28, when he returns, it isn’t to deal with sin. That was already done, but to save his people and pour out the wrath upon the wicked that do not obey the gospel. 2 Thessalonians 1:8, 1 Thessalonians 1:10. If you don’t have peace with God, meaning there’s still enmity between you and God, then your obedience means nothing. Randy Ski, which means without the sacrifice of Christ, your sin still stands against you. Again, in the next chapter, Hebrews 10:19-22,
After laying out some of the promises of the new covenant and what makes it better than the old, the author writes, “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is through his flesh, and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our heart sprinkled clean from an evil ful conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Ah, so in Hebrews 9:8 when it says that while the
Levitical priesthood work was going on, the way into the presence of God was closed off. He then goes on to explain that a new and living way has been opened up to more than just the high priest once a year. And what’s that new and living way? By the sacrifice of Christ. It’s through his holy blood and sacrifice presented before the father, his incarnation, his flesh being the doorway by which we being in him can also enter into the presence of God with boldness. It’s the sacrifice of Christ that cleanses our conscience, freeing us from the condemnation of sin and its
Sting. But apparently, you won’t need the blood of Christ covering you into eternity. That was only a petty earthly action that happened to vindicate the law and show people that the ten commandments can be kept. Which is why he can make such an insane statement and not even be slightly bothered because watch he’s you’re going to see how he tries to justify this. But again, Ephesians 2 1-10. Again, notice, “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the
Air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience, among whom we all once lived in the presence of our in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath like the rest of mankind.” But God being rich in mercy because of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead in our trespasses made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus so that in the coming ages he might show
The immeasurable riches of his grace and kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. All of this is about being united to Christ. that happens by the sacrifice of Christ. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of your own doing. It is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Close quote. All of humanity is born dead in sins and trespasses by nature a child of the wrath by default in Satan’s kingdom.
But God being rich in mercy even while a person is dead in their sins makes them alive by uniting them to Christ, raising them up and seating them with Christ in the heavenlies. Again, language around representation. No, we’re not physically there yet, but in Christ we are. He’s our representative. He represents his people as the second Adam. Whereas the old Adam, those who were born fallen in Adam, he’s their representative. He’s not there. But and all of this he does on the basis of his own valition to show the immeasurable riches of his grace. It’s a
Gift from God, which is why no one can boast. Then verse 10, Paul uses interesting language that reflects what he says elsewhere, such as in 2 Corinthians 5. He says, “Believers are God’s workmanship.” Do a word study on this, folks. If you’re curious, do a word study on verse 10 and the language that Paul is using. This speaks to the new creation. Christ makes believers new creatures in him. The Holy Spirit sealing that work and is the one who applies the redemptive work accomplished by Christ. accomplished. How? By his perfect person and work, which
Includes his sacrifice at Calvary. And it’s this work that happens because of Christ’s perfect person and work that results in the Holy Spirit applying redemption to a person. And their good works are then a result of that taking place. Is obedience a good work, Randy? Because any good work in any capacity is only possible because of the sacrifice of Christ. Good work being defined by God’s standard. Not just, oh well, a person that’s not united to Christ can feed the homeless. No, we’re using the biblical standard here. You can’t be pleasing to God apart from
The sacrifice of Christ. One last example here. Notice Genesis 8 20-22. When Noah and his family get off the ark, says, “Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, I will never again curse the ground because of man. For the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. while the earth remains. Seed time and harvest, cold and heat,
Summer and winter, day and night shall not cease. So this is insight into why clean and unclean animals were taken onto the ark. Contrary to the SDA church saying this somehow alludes to diet, Noah was commanded to then take some of the clean birds and build an altar and offer burnt offerings to the Lord. Noah obeyed, did so. And verse 21 says what? It sent up a pleasing aroma to the Lord who was pleased and said, “Ah, I’ll never again curse the ground because of man.” The burnt offering was a pleasing aroma that led to God being appeased. Now, notice what Paul says in Ephesians
5. Therefore, be imitators of God as beloved children and walk in love as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ah, so is Paul just using fluffy language or did he know the Old Testament? Well, Christ’s giving of himself was a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. As we’re told in 1 John, Romans 3:25, Hebrews 21:17, Christ’s sacrifice was propitiatory, which means it appeased God’s righteous wrath towards sin, toward his pe for his people. He pours it out on Christ, the true fragrant offering who the father was pleased to crush.
Isaiah 53:10. And that pleasing aroma appeased God’s wrath towards sinners such that in Christ a person can have peace with God. And that is why in Hebrews 9:24 I pointed out that the author says heaven and earth were cleansed by better sacrifices plural because Jesus was all of the laws, offerings, and sacrifices in one. the burnt offering, the sin offering, the guilt offering, the fragrant offering, etc. Again, the sacrifice of Christ being the key link in all of this. We can be imitators of God seeking to be obedient because of Christ’s sacrifice. We are
Only beloved children because of Christ’s sacrifice. Now, I could go on and on and on, but if you are an Adventist, and I am not being sensational. I am as serious as a heart attack when I say this. You need to get the hell out of this organization. You are playing with spiritual fire and you will be browbeaten by flaming heretics like this guy who try and scare you into staying after telling you, “If it isn’t a plane, thus sayeth the Lord, then it should be rejected.” to then go on to twist scripture to his own shame by claiming that 1st Samuel 15:22 says,
“God prefers your obedience to the Ten Commandments over and against the sacrifice of Christ.” I mean, just saying that, I I’m like I like fear and trepidation of even just uttering this. The SDA church does not keep the commandments anyways. Neither does Randy Ski, as we just evidenced by his statement that’s oozing with pride. This is in part why understanding the law gospel distinction is so important folks and further evidences. No, the SDA church does not uphold this distinction because again this statement would would receive hearty amens from all sorts of
Adventists, even SDAs in leadership. Wouldn’t even have seen anything wrong with what he said. Wicked, wicked teaching. Now listen to how he tries to justify this nonsense. Now you’re asking me to explain that. Let me explain it. Let me pray first before I explain it. Father, this is not the message I had, but I may continue in this vein. I’ll see how the Holy Ghost leads me. Now, as I explain what I said, you give me the right words, Father, that your people may not be misled. In Jesus name I pray. Amen. Why did Jesus die? Give me one word. One word. Sin.
If Adam had not sinned, would Christ have come to die? No. Before Adam sinned, was there obedience in the universe? Yes. In the new world, will all sin is removed and sinners are no more? Only the righteous are obedient. Will there be obedience? Yes. They shall come to pass from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another shall all flesh come to worship before me, sayith the Lord. There was obedience before there was sacrifice. There will be obedience after sacrifice is no longer necessary. To obey is better than sacrifice. So he makes this wicked statement and
Then before explaining does the pious posture of praying afterward and says this wasn’t the message he had planned but we’ll see how the Holy Ghost leads. No Randy the Holy Spirit was not behind that. You should have stuck with your notes. I don’t know if you didn’t think before saying this, but the Holy Spirit is the source of Hebrews 9, Colossians 1, Ephesians 2, and countless other large swaths of scripture that clearly demonstrate you’re a heretic. You need to resign, and you should be ashamed of yourself for saying such a thing and then attributing that to the Holy Spirit
Leading you to say it. But his defense is that obedience was around before Christ’s sacrifice and will be around after his sacrifice. Therefore, obedience is more important than Christ’s sacrifice because it will no longer be necessary. Yeah, Mr. Ski, the sacrifice of Christ, the lamb slain from the foundation of the world is necessary into eternity. What did we just read in Hebrews 9, y’all? The once-forall time perfect sacrifice of Christ accomplished eternal redemption. And that single sacrifice perfected for all time those who are brought near to God through him. And he
Forever lives to make intercession for them. Which is why he’s able to save. Chapter 7. To the uttermost those that come to God through him. You can only do that through the sacrifice of Christ. I don’t know if there’s any better evidence that many SDAs, including SDA leaders like this guy, do not understand the eternal ramifications of Christ’s sacrifice. To think that sacrifice will will that to think that the sacrifice of Christ will not be eternally necessary despite it not being repeated over and over and over and that your obedience to God
Overshadows that and is more pleasing to God, that evidences you don’t understand the gospel. You don’t understand why Jesus died and what he secured. For all of eternity, believers will be hidden in Christ Jesus. Secured by his perfect atoning work, which included his sacrifice, united to Jesus throughout all of eternity as sons and daughters of God, all on the basis of his perfect person and work. But when you adhere to a system that says Jesus came to silence the accusations of Satan in a pre-earth origin story and demonstrate that the law can be kept perfectly, a total man-c
Centered mess of theology, it makes sense why you would think the way he is. But he has no scriptural warrant, only abusing 1st Samuel 15:22. He also demonstrates that in SDA theology, the plan of salvation was an afterthought. I’ve said numerous times and I will say many, many more, the Adventist gods are a bunch of reactionaries, things take them by surprise. They have to hold council meetings to figure out solutions to newly arisen problems, which is exactly what Ellen White put forth in spiritual gifts volume 1, or rather spirit of prophecy volume one,
Sorry. In the chapter titled the plan of salvation, Jesus presented a plan to the father that after three tries and pleading with him, the father accepts Jesus’s plan, which was that he would incarnate to ransom fallen man, providing a way of escape to be brought back into God’s favor. That plan being that by faith in his merits and obedience to the Ten Commandments, you can be brought back into the favor of God, silencing Satan and vindicating God’s character, which is exactly what Randy Ski is espousing here. Notice
Sorrow filled heaven as it was realized that man was lost and the world that God created was to be filled with mortals doomed to misery, sickness and death and there was no way of escape for the offender. The whole family of Adam must die. I saw the lovely Jesus and beheld an expression of sympathy and sorrow upon his countenance. Soon I saw him approach the exceeding bright light which enshrouded the father. said my accompanying angel. He’s in close converse with his father. The anxiety of the angel seemed to be intense while Jesus was communing with his father.
Three times he was shut in by the glorious light about the father. And the third time he came from the father, his person could be seen. Yeah. So the Jesus could be beheld but not the father. The father’s too glorious but not Jesus. His countenance was calm, free from all perplexity and trouble and shown with benevolence and loveliness such as words cannot express. He then made known to the angelic host that a way of escape had been made for lost man. He told them that he had been pleading with his father and had offered to give his life a ransom and take the sentence of death
Upon himself that through him man might find pardon that through the merits of his blood and the ob and obedience to the law of God they could have the favor of God and be brought into the beautiful garden and eat of the fruit of the tree of life. Close quote. Total nonsense. The plan of redemption was not an afterthought, folks. God is not surprised by anything. He’s not a reactionary to creatures. We’re not experiencing plan B. This is plan A. And if you don’t like that, sorry. It doesn’t change the facts. This gets into theodysy, the problem of evil, which the
SDA church thinks their great controversy model is bulletproof. It isn’t. It doesn’t come from the Bible, as we’ve looked at countless times. It’s foreign to the Bible. They claim it was uniquely given to the SDA church. they didn’t discover it and is then brought to the Bible to do the interpreting. But this is why at the beginning we looked at the law gospel distinction which is downstream of covenant theology. The covenant of redemption whatever title you prefer. We could go through and explain the whole thing for people who say well that word and that phrase isn’t
Found in the Bible. Right? It’s just a summation statement. Whatever title you prefer that was made between the father, son, and spirit from eternity past. Not a plan B prior to creation, not after creation. And then creatures do a bunch of stuff and oh, a council meeting to No, this is a God who’s made in the image of man. Christ the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. The Roman soldiers doing what God had for ordained they would regarding crucifying the Lord of glory, which was murder on their part. Acts 4:28. The plan for ordained before the foundation of the world. 1
Peter 1:20. Not after the fall when the earth was already created and then there was a council meeting to determine a plan B since man fell. No, before the foundation of the world. Now, let’s now let’s flesh this out some. Head to Isaiah if you’re following along. We’re going to go to Isaiah 46. So, in this chapter, God is laying out I I love Isaiah really 42 through 48, but this is like right in the sweet spot. is a great section of of scripture folks in dealing with cults like Jehovah’s Witnesses, Adventists, uh Mormons, uh Chrisadelfians, Unity Bahigh, even
Islam. Um man, you can just there’s a lot here that we can glean. But in this chapter, God is laying out a number of his distinctives that separate and distinguish him from all the other false idols of the pagans. God’s people at the time are surrounded by pagan nations just like we are in today’s day and age. And amidst that, notice what notice one of the things that he says. To whom will you liken me and make me equal and compare me that we may be alike? Those who lavish gold from the purse and weigh out silver in the scales hire a goldsmith and he makes it into a god.
Then they fall down and worship. They lift it to their shoulders. They carry it. They set it in its place and it stands there. It can’t move from its place. If one cries to it, it does not answer or save him from his trouble. Remember this and stand firm. Recall it to mind, you transgressors. Remember the former things of old, for I am God and there is no other. I am God and there is none like me. declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times, things not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purposes.”
Calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. I’ve spoken and I will bring it to pass. I have purposed and I will do it. Thus, the reading of God’s holy word. So, one of the distinguishing characteristics of the true God is that he’s the only true God and there are none others like him, but that he’s declared the end from the beginning. Idols cannot do this. They’re powerless to do such a thing. And he reminds his people, which applies to us even today, to remember this when you see all this chaos, especially in the West right now, where people
Think, “Oh, it’s going to be the end because everything’s just deteriorating. If America goes away, then the world’s going to end.” No. God is speaking to you here. No. Remember, I will bring to pass what I have decreed. I’m in charge. Nothing takes me by storm. Nothing throws me off. Take solace in that. You should have great solace in that. From ancient times to things not yet brought about, his counsel shall stand and he will accomplish all of his purposes. Verse 10. Down to a bird of prey that’s sent from the east. what he has spoken he will bring to pass
And his purposes will be brought about. Yeah, that’s not the Adventist gods lowercase G. They fall into the idol category that the true God is distinguishing himself from. Now, we will save a a deeper dive on covenant theology for another day, but Ellen White’s imagination isn’t the Bible, and it doesn’t jive with the Bible. But at the end of Randy Ske, this whole thing is to segue to defending the seventh day Sabbath. Why are we not surprised? Mr. Ski, you guys can abuse Isaiah 66 till the cows come home. It doesn’t change the facts. Because one, Isaiah 66
Has absolutely nothing to do with justifying your atom bomb of heresy. Two, you cited it that it mentions new moons, yet you guys don’t keep the new moon festivals. you selectively cherrypick out of the entire chapter what you think helps your guys’ uh system. And three, the fact that God tells us there won’t be sun and moon in the new heavens and new earth, Revelation 21:23, is all the evidence one needs to realize you guys don’t actually understand what Isaiah 66 is talking about. For those that are curious, we’ve gone over that before, but you can go to our website, answering
Adventism.com, type in in the search bar up top Isaiah 66, and you’ll see a breakdown of that for yourself. But of course, like one could sense early on with his plea to not leave the SDA church, this is all at the behest of going to church on Saturday. Mr. Ski, you guys don’t even keep the Sabbath. You have a false god and a false gospel. To truly keep the Sabbath, you have to be united to the true Christ. Until then, it’s all a charade. It’s lip service. A day means absolutely nothing. Nothing when you aren’t memorializing the correct Jesus. So going to church, you know what Jesus
Said? In vain do they worship me teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Mark 7 I believe is verse 6. 6 and 7. In vain Jesus says this worship is useless in my eyes. Why? It is based on the commandments and doctrines of men. Now you turn that around. What is the worship God accepts? Worship based on the commandments of God. Let me say it again. You didn’t get what I’m trying to say. It’s my fault. Think. That’s favor number three. Think. Listen again. In vain do they worship me. Why is it in vain? Why is it useless? Teaching for doctrines the commandments
Of men. Christ is saying their worship is based on manmade commandments and so I classify it as a waste of time. You know how many churches every weekend are wasting time. Now, if that’s the case, if you turn that around, you realize what Christ is saying. Worship me based on my commandments, which makes obedience the cornerstone of worship because rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. Did you hear what I just what the Bible says? 1st Samuel 15:23, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.” Now, why is that? Because rebellion is sin. Listen to me carefully. Jesus said, “He
That is not with me, come on, is against me.” Which means every human being is either for God or for the devil. There are two kingdoms in this world in the universe. The kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. And so Jesus says, “If Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself. How shall then his kingdom stand?” Matthew 12:26. In verse 28, Jesus says, “But if I cast out devils by the spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.” Now we have the kingdom of Satan, the kingdom of God. Every human being is in one kingdom or the other.
Now, every human being either worships God or worships the devil. Now, you may worship the devil through your career. You may worship the devil by being obsessed with a husband or wife. You may worship the devil by being obsessed with money. You may worship the devil by whatever. But you either worship God or the devil. That’s it. Now when the Bible says rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, to disobey God is to be in harmony with the devil. That’s witchcraft. All right. So, the SDA church is engaged in the sin of witchcraft and rebellion because, as we’re about to see, and like
We saw earlier, the SDA church does not obey the true and living God. But first, he mentioned, “In vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men,” citing Mark 7. It never ceases to amaze me when I hear Adventists say this, and their movement is literally one giant system built on doctrines of men. Mr. Ski, you mean things like baby dedications, special music, and countless SDA doctrinal novelties and practices that have zero basis in scripture because they come from culture or the great controversy theme in some cases. The the great controversy itself
Is a doctrine of man. They try and do this boiling down like we saw a couple weeks ago. Oh, it’s just the good and evil. Yeah. And speaking of the doctrines of man, he then mentions, like I said, Mark 7, how ironic, the exact paricopy where Jesus rebukes the religious leaders of the day for the uh the imposition of the corbond rule, elevating it to divine prerogative in a context that creates serious problem for SDA commandments of man, Ellen White, which you guys seek to bind people with. So, let’s look at this paricopy and notice a couple things. Mark 7 1-23.
Yes, we’re going to read the entire encounter. Okay, notice now when the Pharisees gathered to him, Jesus with some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem, they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands that were defiled, that is unwashed. For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands properly, holding to the tradition of the elders. And when they come from the marketplace, they do not they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions that they observe such as the washing of cups and pots and
Copper vessels and dining couches. And when Pharisees and and the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?” And he said to them, “Well, did Isaiah prophet prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,” this people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. In vain do they worship me, teaching the doctrines, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men. And he said to them,
“You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition. For Moses said,”Honor your father and your mother, and whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.” But you say, “If a man tells his father or his mother, whatever you would have gained from me is corbon, that is given to God, then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down.” and many such things you do. Pause. So, it was the tradition of the elders
That one must wash their hands properly to keep from defiling themselves by having defiled hands that touch their food or their cooking utensils that would then enter their body. This tradition extended even to the utensils. Jesus’s disciples did not observe this tradition, which leads to the Pharisees asking Jesus why they’re not observing this. Jesus then responds with Isaiah 29 where he said, “These hypocrites were prophesied about teaching as doctrine the commandments of men.” The phrase Mr. Ski is referring to. Jesus then chastises them by using the
Example of them nullifying the command of God to honor father and mother by way of their handed down traditions which extended beyond just the washing of hands and food. But then Jesus continues with the heart of the matter, no pun intended, by speaking about what truly defiles a person. And he called the people to him again and said to them, “Hear me all of you and understand, there is nothing outside a person that by going in him can defile him. But the things that come out of a person are what defile him.” And when he had entered the house and left the people,
His disciples asked him about the parable. And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him since it enters not his heart but his stomach and is expelled. Thus he declared all foods clean. And he said what comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come
From within and they defile a person. Thus, the reading of God’s holy word. So there is nothing outside of a person that by going into him can defile him. Why? Because what defiles a person is what comes out of their heart. The disciples confused on this matter as to what uh what was a you know common which was a common occurrence for them sought Jesus out after the people were were gone and inquired about what he meant by what he was saying. Jesus then tells them what that whatever goes into a person from outside can’t defile them because it goes into their stomach and
Not their heart. What comes out of your heart is what defiles you, not anything that goes into your stomach, which would include food, not just potential germs on food. Hence why verse 19 has the uh bracketed statement, which is more than likely a scribal edition indicating that Jesus declared all foods to be clean. Out of the heart of man comes evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, all sorts of sins. It’s these things that defile you. So, how ironic that he cites this to try and speak to Christians being the ones in
This narrative that have bound people to the doctrines of men, teaching them as the commandments of God when this movement literally does that themselves. We have another case of lacking in self-awareness while projecting onto others. Because notice, the SDA church tells us that Jesus is speaking through Ellen White, which would make this a commandment of God. Quote, “Meat eating deranges the system, belouds the intellect and blunts the moral sensibilities. Such a diet contaminates the blood and stimulates the lower passions. It prevents vigor of
Thought and infeevils the perceptions so that God and the truth are not understood.” Close quote. So eating meat, any meat, not just unclean meats, Adventists, be clouds the intellect and contaminates a person’s blood, even blunting a person’s senses, moral, sensibility to being able to hear and receive the truth. Now notice, she also writes, “God has written his law upon every nerve and muscle, every fiber and function of the human body. The indulgence of unnatural appetite, whether for tea, coffee, tobacco, or liquor, is in tempmperance and is at war
With the laws of life and health. By using these forbidden articles, a condition of things is created in the system which the creator never designed. This indulgence in any of the members of the human family is sin. that eating a food that does not make good blood is working against the laws of our physical organism and is a violation of the law of God. The cause produces the effect suffering, disease and death are the sure penalty of indulgence. Close quote. Ah, so anything that defiles the blood or contaminates the blood is a violation of the law of God which is written on every
Fiber of man’s being which means eating meat is a sin which would be a defilement. tea, coffee, meat, it all defiles the blood and they’re forbidden articles forbidden, which would mean Jesus is supposedly uh commanding this to us though Ellen White or or through Ellen White and that these things are off limits and will defile a person. Even though Jesus himself ate meat, did a miracle where he produced a boatload of it and fed it to men, women, and children. Even though we have his plain words in Mark 7, he now contradicts himself supposedly through Ellen White and gives
Us a present truth message. No, what’s actually going on here is what what’s warned about in first Timothy. Now the spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good and nothing is to be rejected. It is to be received with
Thanksgiving for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. Close quote. Yeah. Ellen White was inspired by a deceitful spirit and taught doctrines of demons in clear contrast to the word of God, requiring abstinence from foods that need not be abstained from. Claiming God commands such all meats, not just unclean. All meats, tea. Yeah. Show us this from scripture. You can’t. And the SDA church trying to appeal to this being about fasting is a Hail Mary attempt to refuse to accept the plain thus sayeth the Lord. Nothing in the preceding context or present context
Implies or indicates this is referring to fasting. They’ll try and say, “Oh, no, it’s talking about when when choosing to f I’ve heard all sorts of excuses. Oh, when when choosing to fast over certain foods, you know, you shouldn’t limit what a person in their own minds can be made up as to what they want to fast. Just crazy things. What’s what’s said here is Paul’s consistent teaching that the weaker person eats only vegetables, Romans 14, thinking it does something, but the mature believer knows they can eat what they, you know, what they please because
God’s accepted both parties, the weaker and the more mature. Now, Paul says he won’t be a stumbling block to someone in certain instances if it’s going to be a stumbling block. But that’s a specific context. But in Romans 14, Paul says this isn’t to be a dividing line issue. Let each person be convinced in their own mind. So, Mr. Ski, maybe the Holy Spirit’s purpose in your presentation is to show us a glowing example of why qualified pastors are called to exedute the biblical text, walking through entire passages verse by verse, bringing out the author’s intended meaning by
Gathering the historical context to then make valid modern-day application instead of this Gatling gun approach where you cite little snippets of entire chains of thought to completely misapply them. But once again, due to tunnel vision around the 7th day Sabbath, he demonstrates himself to be just like the Pharisees in Mark 7. The SDA church has all sorts of doctrines of men that they bind people’s consciences to, teaching as the commandments of God. the entire health message, the investigative judgment, the sanctuary, national turned international
Sunday law, mark of the beast being Sunday, the seventh day Sabbath being the seal, that Jesus will cease functioning as a mediator at a point in the future, baby dedications, special music, communion every 13th Saturday using grape juice and having an agape feast. Again, tunnel vision on the seventh day Sabbath with a plank in your own eye the size of the Milky Way. He said, “God only accepts worship based on the commandments of God.” Right? Which step one is having the right god. You have to have the right god to be worship him. Worshiping him properly.
Sir, this is why anytime adventists bring this up, I just immediately what law? Who? Who? Who are you talking about? Well, God, who? Who is that? Jesus. Who is that? Who? Describe this individual to me. It’s irrelevant that you guys congregate on Saturdays. It means absolutely nothing in the eyes of the Lord. You guys have a false gospel that’s cursed by God. Galatians 1. Another plain thus sayeth the Lord. And a false message that you’re spreading to the world that puts people in bondage, making them worse off than they were before they were infected with a great controversy
Worldview, which is the subtle killer in Adventism. Because people leave and don’t realize they still have the hardware on. And remember, Mr. Ski, you said you’re not politically correct. Well, neither am I, sir. So, I’m shooting it straight. No chaser. You guys have zero business chiding anyone about following man-made traditions when your guys’ liturgy is literally one giant tradition of the 19th century. Little lamb’s offering, you know, where you guys do a second round of offering on top of the regular offering plus tithe. Yeah. Where’s that in scripture? Oh,
Right. Yeah. Send kids around to milk more money out of people. Sick. Special music where you guys equate having a good singing voice with having a spiritual gifting that is serving the church by singing a solo. Yeah. Where’s that in scripture? You guys have zero word and sacrament ministry. The entire lifeblood of the church. There’s no means of grace operating in the midst of your guys’s gatherings. You’re talking about nice buildings and fancy cars not being the barometer, but the teaching. My goodness, sir. The Lord’s supper central to the pleasing of God.
Jesus communing with his people. That’s why we’re there. You don’t have that operating there. He doesn’t even think he’s present. Yeah, but you want to knock people who who do. That’s a tradition of man. Oh, the idea of Christ being present in Eucharist, that’s a tradition of man. No, it’s not. What are you talking about? I don’t even know what you’re talking about. It’s the gospel to the senses. It’s like signing and sealing what’s put forth in the word that was just proclaimed, nourishing our souls, feasting on Christ. It’s like, what are you talking about, man?
Doesn’t happen in a single SDA church in the entire world, which means your worship is useless and in vain. You can b scoff at tradition, but it’s always the people that say they have no tradition that are slaves to one, which is most certainly the case here. Your guys’s liturgy has zero connection to the past. None. You’re talking about worship. Your liturgy has zero connection in history, let alone scripture. It is a novel concept influenced by 19th century American revivalism. It is not ancient. No one prior to modernity had a worship service
That looked like SDAs. And the only reason I’m hammering this folks is because this guy wants to cast fear on people to keep them in the SDA church all because they congregate on Saturday. Not to say that you have to look exactly like me, etc. Now, it’s entirely irrelevant that you congregate on Saturday when you are congregating to worship a false god where there’s no word and sacrament ministry taking place. No communing with the Lord, no singing of the Psalms, no corporate confession of sin, no confession of the Apostles Creed, the universal faith of the Christian church,
None of that. None of that. Don’t dispense God’s condemnation on everyone else, which is what he’s doing, when you don’t even meet the standard you’re using to justify our condemnation. Now, this was a long night. The SDA church does not understand the law gospel distinction. Folks, please recognize this if you are a former Adventist. They do not understand the proper use of the law or the proper category of obedience. When someone says that a person’s obedience, their doings are preferred by God over and against the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, the
Son of God, you can know beyond a shadow of a doubt they do not understand the gospel. Period. There’s no justifying this. I don’t care what Adventist comment down in the, you know, because they’ll defend it. They’ll defend anything. No. No. Zero. There’s no justifying. The only context this could be said in where it’s acceptable is when you’re saying this is flaming heresy, which is not what was taking place. Justifying this heresy to be hest of saying the sacrifice of Christ won’t be needed anymore in eternity. Tell me you don’t understand the gospel without
Telling me you don’t understand the gospel. And if you think Jesus came to demonstrate that the law can be kept as perfectly as him, you have to realize Jesus never violated it a single time. you have the law makes no provisions for doovers. This idea of the the principle of the law is found in the gospel as well and that the gospel is it brings a person to Christ who’s able to enable them to then try and do it again and well over time it’ll be a great No, dude. No, that’s not the way that works. This is all great controversy stuff. The law makes no provisions for doovers.
The idea that the gospel is Jesus giving you a second crack at fulfilling the covenant of works completely misses why Jesus came. The great controversy worldview is to blame. Jesus fulfilled the covenant of works perfectly by himself in and of himself. And it’s only by trusting in his perfect person and work that a person can be seen as if they fulfilled those requirements as well. It’s not Jesus fulfills it and then potentially millions of other people fulfill it. It’s not by Jesus giving you a second probation to try over and over and over again in hopes that you eventually get
There. It won’t happen. You are on a hamster wheel. And I know they’re going to say, “Oh, that’s Satan. You’re you’re a tool of Satan.” Well, okay. Dusting my feet off. There’s some lone sucker out there who’s been taken captive by this movement who is hearing this and is going to go, “Yeah, wow.” And is going to be reached. So, keep scoffing. God’s saving his people and it’s working. It’s working. It is only by the holy shed blood that a person’s obedience has any sort of aroma before the Lord. Folks, I just the sacrifice of Christ, though not repeated, will 100% without question
Be necessary in eternity. It’s on the basis of the sinless son of God’s incarnation, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension that for all of eternity, God’s people will be rendered secure and set free to glorify him throughout eternity. To say that his sacrifice will not be needed anymore is just awful. It is awful. And again, I’m I’m going to lightly say this, but if you are an Adventist that is going to comment or or say these your character, your your demeanor, you’re wasting your time. You are w you’re in the wrong place. Yeah, there’s a time and a place for
Acting like this. There’s a time and a place for speaking a harsh rebuke. What that man said was demonic is demonic. And at a certain point, you draw the line. No more. That guy needs called out. He’s a flaming heretic. He needs to repent of that and humble himself as a prideful fool who thinks that his doings are more important than the sacrifice of Christ to God. No, we’re not putting gloves on here. I’m not like this all the time. You we just had a guy comment today this long thing. I hope you find peace, brother, which that deals with nothing that was
Presented in the video, but I’m not like this 24/7. I’m like this all the time. There’s a context. This is spiritual warfare. I’ve said this from the beginning. There’s like a year track record to this. We’re not putting gloves on when someone is saying something like this in the name of Christ. No. Not a chance. So you can comment all you want. You can say all the all the temperance stuff. You don’t fall. You your character. I don’t see Jesus. Whatever. Whatever. We’re on a mission here. That mission is happening. We’re trusting God and God is
Moving through this effort. I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported this platform in a variety of ways. It’s not just monetarily. Prayer, messages of encouragement. I get letters, man. get letters from people, testimonies. It just Yeah, it’s been a it’s been a lot of stuff at a at a fast breakneck speed. And I did not anticipate all that, but we’re going with it. And God is using it and reaching a people that are caught in the jaws of this movement that is one day going to be made a foottool under the feet of the the true Christ who is ruling and reigning. I’m
Sorry. Adventism is not true. It is a deception. It does not mean that there’s nothing true taught there. What deception out there is literally 100% error. It’s like Satan doesn’t even operate that way. They love the story of Genesis. It’s like, well, everything Satan said there was not a lie. It’s a subtle twisting of truth, which is exactly what this movement has done in the area of obedience, for example. Why did Jesus come? It’s a subtle twist. No, Jesus came to fulfill what man failed and redeem the creation that man broke. And in him you can be seen as
Righteous before God on his merits and his basis. Yes, he will change you. Yes, he’ll make you a new creature. You’ll have good days. You’ll have bad days. You’ll war against the flesh. Romans 7. Until your fallen flesh is glorified and raised incorruptible. But this system, no, no, no, it’s twisted. Well, no. Jesus came to silence these pre-earth accusations from Satan that well, you can’t find them in the Bible, but we have this whole pre-earth origin story that uh well, God’s given us a look behind the curtain. So, come join us and and let us itch your
Tickling, you know, or tickle your itching ears um around this little gnostic bent that you may have around wanting to have a look behind the curtain. Yeah, that’s what’s going on there. So, again, if you’re an Adventist, you’re going to comment down in the in the comments down below, you are wasting your time. is not going to change. When somebody says something like this, someone needs to say something because we actually care about this guy. I have a running list of of of SDA figures. I’ve commented sometimes in the comments, so maybe you can go find them
Like Easter eggs if you want to know who some of these people are. Um, I’ve commented down in in the response to some people of some of the people I’ve responded to, and I have a personal list of people that I’m determined to pull out of this movement and see them come to know the truth. So, you can say whatever you want about, oh, you don’t have Christ character. Well, the Adventist Jesus isn’t real. And the whole SDA temperance doctrines nonsense is of you don’t fit this cookie cutter mold that all of us are really trying to fill and show that we’re happy, you
Know, and you don’t have this certain temperament, well, you’re not Christlike. Yeah, we don’t we don’t buy all that here. We don’t buy all that here. We read from Chrysum earlier, and Chrysm had a had a perfect succinct statement. you know, our our I care about glorifying the Lord. And the Lord was not always this passive uh, you know, pushover sort of like blondhaired, blue-eyed, Caucasian surfer Jesus that’s like knocking at the door of your heart like a a boyfriend. No, there were times where he was firm and stern. There were times where he was calm and gracious.
And there’s a spectrum there. There’s nuance, but not in Adventism. It’s it’s all or nothing. And that comes from Ellen White. If you’re trusting in anything other than the perfect person and work of Christ on behalf of sinners, I implore you, humble yourself. Obey the gospel. 2 Thessalonians 1. Trust that Jesus is who he said he was. The I am the Lord God the Almighty prophesied about in the Old Testament who would come and dwell with his people tabernacle amongst them who did a work that a mere creature cannot and redeemed what man broke including sinners by
Fulfilling what he was sent by God the Father to do fulfilling all righteousness. He is a perfect and powerful savior. Cling to him friends. Clangtown. As always, we will catch you next time.
